I cant imagine we would see GSP-Hardy, Alves-Fitch II, Carwin-Mir and Rampage-Rashad on one single card but I wouldnt exactly complain.
If Rashad beats Silva and Rampage then he deserves his title shot. If Silva beats Rashad then Rampage he deserves his title shot. If Rampage beats the Rashad-Silva winner then he deserves his title shot. They all make sense so I'm happy.
As great as a potential Silva-Rampage bout would be no matter what happens tonight Rampage vs Evans must happen. If Thiago wins id like him to maybe face Lil Nog or Couture if he beats Coleman. Thing is though with the way Thiago and Rashad both lost to Machida I wouldnt want a rematch for a loooonnngg time.
Oh yeah, personally I want to see that fight no matter what. They lost to Machida conclusively but with two quality wins they deserve their rematch.
Well there I respectfully disagree. Lets just say Rashad where to win vs Silva and Rampage id like to see Rogerio Nogueira get a title shot (with another big win) vs Machida-Rua II winner however I doubt Nogueira and Machida would fight each other so maybe Rashad agian giving him the wins would get a title shot. However id also rather see Couture with a few consecutive wins get Rua-Machida just because its a new matchup. If Machida is Champion we already seen what he did to Evans and Silva within just the past 1 year and lets face it these fights where about as one sided as can be. However IMO Rua would get the win in the rematch and all the potential fights for him are amazing imagine him vs Thiago thats nasty right there, who wouldnt want a Rampage rematch ?, Couture could present a tough fight, Rashad same thing or how about a highly anticapted Rogerio-Rua rematch ?
At present, those are 3 of the biggest guys and they are the hotshots. Agreed, if Lil Nog gets a big win then he is a fresh opponent and thus it makes sense. I agree, Rua should be the champ and if he wins the rematch then it changes things. However I am a big believer in rematches if earnt. 2 big wins for either guy should signal a rematch in my opinion. We need to see what happens with Lil Nog, Couture etc but at the moment the UFC haven't put them in the title picture just yet. Plus, Machida might not even survive Rua II. If he loses then Evans vs Machida II becomes a much easier fight to make.
pretty much no chance at this happening. i am thinking of going to this card though so it would be sweet. the gGSP and Mir fights are already confirmed i think. anyway this fight will be loads of hype but Rampage should win.
