    Round 1

Stevens is posing and squaring off with Goldson, watching & waiting on him to make the first move. A few cautious jabs from Goldson. Stevens is pressing in and tapping up top with the southpaw jab and dispensing a few underhanded reaches on the belt line. Stevens backs up and sweeps a couple of grazing hooks as Goldson presses forward throwing a 1-1-overhand combo repeatedly, on the front-foot.

    10-9 Goldson

    Round 2

Stevens is baiting Goldson with his right arm sloped down over his lead hip, and pawing up with the jab occasionally, teasing Stevens with a light triple-pop, doubling the jab and plunking in a left on the chest before reeling away from the pocket using elasticity above the waist. Goldson not working or landing much but investing more effort and taking more chances than Stevens, who is still mostly just posing, stiff & nervy, and late with the right jab when he deigns to fire it.

    10-9 Goldson

    20-18 Goldson

    Round 3

Goldson is marching forward and trying different variants of the double-jab and right hand, some overhand and others straight. Keeping distance, Stevens is able to pot shot with light combos on the chest & guard. Stevens is wending some hooks into the sides while leaning forward, retracting his gloves to his face and bunching them around it until he pulls out and straightens up.

    10-9 Stevens

    29-28 Goldson

    Round 4

Goldson is now in unfamiliar territory on the back-foot. Stevens billy-goats his way in, leading with the head and then drilling it against Goldson's breastplate while putting on earmuffs and then whacking the body with roundhouse shots with both hands. Stevens pushes off and resets, then waves a few southpaw jabs on his way in to start the process over again. Goldson just stays in his shell and doesn't get off with much offense whatsoever over three minutes.

    10-9 Stevens

    38-38

All comes down to one last session. A knockdown could really ice the cake for either guy.

The commentator has it 39-37 Goldson, with Stevens taking only the 4th on his card.

    Round 5

Goldson is walking onto right up-jabs flipped off the hip of Stevens. Goldson chops down at him but misses the head as Stevens dips low to either side, and then launches himself up at Goldson headfirst to gain space. Goldson is backed up as Stevens crouches and springs forward trailing a behind-the-back overhand left, crashing it off the high guard of Goldson and then ducking and melting away. Long right jabs by Stevens, blocked. Goldson doing nothing except defend. Stevens jabs and drops his arm by his side, lulling Goldson into peeking around the back of his left glove. Stevens takes advantage, grazing his cheek with another deceptively quick jab. Looping left by Stevens pressing in as Goldson shoves and chops his way clear of the ropes in a brief exchange.

    10-9 Stevens

    48-47 Stevens

A little wide, especially the shutout, but the correct decision.

Comion Goldson blames his gloves. He says they were overly tight and uncomfortable so he couldn't let the punches go like he wanted to. :blabla

Rashid Stevens also making some excuses for his performance, saying he came in with a bruised wrist but says his trainer wrapped it up well enough that it was mostly a non-factor.
