Rate David Haye's performance against Nikolai Valuev

Haye fought a stinker against Valuev. Ok, I can live with that, he just wanted the belt without taking a risk. But now that he has the belt??? HE STILL DOESN'T WANT TO TAKE A RISK!!

That is just unacceptable to any boxing fan. Either step up or step down, you clown.

 

People dont realise this "chicken dance" is actualy one of SNVs taunts.

 

He basically did what a shot to hell 45 years old Evander Holyfield did a year earlier. The only difference is he got the decision and Holyfield got robbed.

So no... I wasn't impressed.

 

Or Ruslan Chagaev's or Larry Donald's for that matter.

What is all this nonsense about David Hayes punch output being low because of a broken hand?

Of course the polls do. If anyone thinks there'll ever be a fair poll about Haye in the future, they are sadly mistaken. Because of what has happened with the Wlad negotiations, he has a strong core of haters, who compare him with Mayweather. After the fight, he had a lot of supports and the vast majority thought he won and looked pretty good, considering the injury. In time, that has changed and I understand that.

Of course, ESB's big problem is reflection. You have guys becoming bums after a loss, being the next great thing after an impressive win and, in the case of Haye, any bad press greatly effects their performances. Haye isn't exactly flavour of the month right now and the petty posters are making their feelings clear by voting "embarassing".

25% think the performance was embarassing. He outlanded Valuev, threw less and landed at an unheard of percentage. You may criticize Haye for his output, and that's fine, but to call a performance "embarassing" is just ridiculous. He took the title by a clear margin.

Dirrell, however, disgraced himself that night. Anyone who is objective will look at that and note three things from him: His running, holding and crying. There was no positives from that fight, from his perspective. Nor Froch's, by the way. He looked abysmal but what can you do against a guy who is clearly intimated by a fight?

 

The difference between Haye's win and Holyfield/Ruiz's losses is that both Holyfield and Ruiz looked far more deserving of a win.

 

You know why some ppl may say it was an embarrassing performance? Cuz Haye declared before that he gonna destroy Valuev... The only thing he destroyed was ppls expectations. We can say it was embarrassing comparing this fight to what he predicted. Big Big disappointment again.

 

I say it's hard NOT to blame him. He threw 11.9 punches per round.

2.Dirrell disgraced himself? Please. Dirrell did hold too much, that can't be argued with, and at one point his behaviour was a bit bizarre because he seemed to be complaining... about being punched!! However, it is unquestionable that Carl Froch strayed outside of the rules more often and to a greater extent than Dirrell did. By round 6, Froch had hit Dirrell blatantly and violently to the back of the skull at least three times, and the way he brazenly hurled Dirrell to the canvas was reminiscent of Barrera manhandling Prince Naseem - both infractions were far more serious and reprehensible than a bit of holding. The punching to the back of the head is extremely dangerous and should definitely have resulted in a point deduction, and how the referee failed to deduct another for the wrestling-style throw I'll never know.

I scored the fight to Dirrell by 2 points - and that's including the point he lost and excluding the points Froch should have lost. If fairness had ensued, it would have been Dirrell by 4 points.

To say Dirrell 'ran' is silly, he boxed elusively on the backfoot, he did not simply run, he was constantly engaging Froch and landing the cleaner, better punches. Don't forget, it was Dirrell who rocked Froch, chased him to the ropes, and fired off a volley of shots in just about the only exciting sequence of offensive action in the entire fight. Dirrell nullified and outfoxed Froch, no doubt about it. It wasn't a dominant victory, but it was a victory nonetheless IMO. Froch just didn't achieve anything in the fight.

 

Haye has pissed an entire generation of boxing fans straight in their face. He doesn't give a rat's ass if people think he's boring or not, he's quickly becoming as delusional as James Toney. Talking one way and then unwilling and unable to deliver in the ring -- just the mouth keeps babbling away, completely detached from reality.

 

I'd rate it as decent, and while yes it was boring, you can forgive someone for not wanting to trade with a man who is 70lbs heavier and a foot taller.
Haye did enough to win.

 

Valuev DID NOT GET ROBBED.

Haye CLEARLY won.

Valuev could barely land any punches.

It's CALLED BOXING.

 

It was very boring. My exceptations were much higher. Finally we will not have to see Valuev again
