Always found it odd that considering theres footage of John L, footage of Greb is so scarce. Maybe someone has the film somewhere still or at lest the radio broadcast which is better than nothing.
True burt, any man with the inexperience that Dempsey had (in that period) would fear Langford, i dont think he was afraid once he became the legend that people remember him to be, never know though.
Verry few would have given anybody in the same weight class a chance against Terry McGovern at the height of his rampage.
I believe that Jack Dempsey in his prime FEARED no one...No fighter then or probably after, would have beaten Jack in the trenches...He was a tiger at his best, and were he to have ever lost a bout at his peak,it would have been by an elusive defensive boxer...So what was there to fear. ?...
I think that Dempsey as a heavyweight had much better defensive skills, ala, bobbing and weaving, chin tucked in his left shoulders, than a rushing ,devil may care rushing puncher that Terrible Terry McGovern was...AND Young Corbett just had his number...
Oh sorry Al, i thought you meant a vid. There is footage of him being interviewed because some of it is on this- [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7BOHIxGiTzA[/ame]
Sidenote-In 1942 when I was a youngster my father asked me to go with him to St Nicholas Arena NY, because he was interested in a prelim fighter he knew..I had a party to go to and he went alone...Well late in the morning he came home from the fights and raved about a fighter called Charley Burley who kod a guy named McQuillan in the first round...My dad raved about this Burley...Later on I would read how Robinson and others avoided Burley, and I regreted not going that night to see this ATG,Charley Burley...P.S. In the Navy I met a fighter who once licked Charley Burley by the name of Jimmy Leto...Small world...
