calzaghe is one of the best, i rate him 9/10 overall, if he beat hopkins again and dawson then he would be considered great by more americans, but then ofc there would be a new guy and he would be accused of dodging him

Very good as Calzaghe was, your argument about his resume doesn't hold up when you think about all the alphabet champ's and corrupted organizations that can rank fighter's in their top ten for a back hander.

on the Plus side he cleaned out the Division by beating Lacy and Kessler and was recognised as the man at 168 but there will unfortunately always be questions about Joe because he never faced a Prime Elite fighter.

A true legend, I can't believe how people underate his win against hopkins when at the time and still now hopkins is top 5 p4p.

Eubanks was a massive win, his first fight on the big stage against an iron chined legend of the game.

Calzaghe could change his style to suit any fighter, in the last round he always gave it his all which is a rare thing when a fighter is up by 4 points against a dangerous opponent. People who don't rate him shouldn't be allowed to watch boxing, i can understand people complaining that he never fought the best or went to america early enough but he always wanted RJJ and Hopkins, it was them that didn't want him and with good reason (too much risk not enough reward).

  7. Spoken like a true nuthugger..... I shouldn't be able to watch boxing because I don't love JC like you :huh

And if he wanted the big fights why did he wait 9 years to unify his WBO trinket ????

I never said that, I said if you don't rate him, meaning as a boxer/fighter. I don't care what you think about him as a person or who he fought. I don't care if you don't like his style and he bores you or how he doesn't punch as cleanly as he once used to.

I just can't understand how people don't rate him and say that none of his win's mattered or when people say that he beat a past it hopkins yet they all said pavlik would destroy hopkins. How everyone said Lacy would beat him yet he took him to school for 12 rounds.

I don't mind you saying he is overated by some but surely calling him average is underating him!

He was one of the most protected. He's a good boxer that could have been great. His opposition really hurt him. Pongsaklek Wonjongkam type of diffences prier to the Lacy fight.

Just another Sven Ottke... (relax... I'm kidding)

He was very good for sure... but, NEVER would have beaten a "PRIME" RJJ,,, and dos'nt belong in the same conversation as the ATGs from other eras due to his lack of world class competition.

To me his best win to date was vs Kessler... That dos'nt make him an ATG in my books.

He is great in my eyes because I could never pick against him in any fight. H2H I think he is capable of beating anyone in history. Maybe not every time, but he could hold his own or win with every ATG in his weight class.

  14. Are you talking SMW or LH ???

Because seeing as the SMW is only 21 years old it's not much of an achievement.

  15. What about the two other belts ??
