Rate Larry Holmes' chin

Yeah, Holmes was tough but let’s not go overboard here. The main reason Holmes recovered and survived was that Shavers follow up attacks were terrible. He looked clumsy and off balance trying to finish off the still hurt Holmes. I don’t think Shavers landed one hard clean shot in his follow up attempts giving Holmes the vital time to clear his head.

Now Holmes was a lot older and slower when he met Tyson but still just compare the difference between Tyson’s ruthless finishing ability with Shavers clumsy attempt to finish Holmes.

 

I think it ranks up close to one of the divisions best.
