1.Spinks 2.McCallum 3.Sanchez 4.Benitez McCallum's resume, achievements, and longevity beat those of Sanchez and Benitez. Benitez is a clear, clear last place here.
Sanchez Spinks Benitez Mccallum Benitez and Mccallum are really close though wouldnt argue if switched, Benitez slightly better fighter IMO , Mccallum Longer Career at the top.
Sanchez greater fighters than Mccallum ever did, and was a better fighter. Sanchez top 20 Atg Mccallum top 60-70, Spinks Top 20 him and Sanchez real close Just like Benitez is close with Mccallum Benitez maybe top 60.
No way Mccallum resume is not as good as Spinks, Spinks jumping up to Heavy and beating Holmes puts him way above anything Mccallum did.
McCallum's resume beats Sanchez's. McCallum at 154 was as good as Sanchez at feather. Sanchez in the top 20 is completely and utterly unjustifiable given how short his career was. Michael Spinks is a clear 1st of these 4, Benitez is a clear 4th.
I watched Sanchez-Cowdell today and I was giving it to cowdell until Sanchez floored him in the closing seconds of the fight(soul of a champion).Benitez also had shaky performances in his prime with the likes of Harold Weston and Bruce Curry. So yeah you could make a case for Mccallum being higher.Spinks was poetry emotion as a light heavyweight and ended the reign of Larry Holmes and also beat Gerry Cooney at heavyweight so he is a solid number 1 in my opinion.
Idk where I would put em, but I have to say this is a GREAT question. Sanchez and Benitez are the only fighters I know to have 3 GREAT wins before the age of 24.
