In terms of resume when ranking quality of win, considering everything:
    1. Cotto
    2. Hatton
    3. Mosley (He was still the, what, #5 WW on all lists? Future HOF, and not long before upper top 10 P4P.)
    4. de la Hoya
    5. Clottey
    6. Marquez III (He lost according to most accounts, so it's not a very legitimate win, which is what the thread is asking to rank by. In terms of danger, it would turn out this fight would be #1.)
    7. Margarito (Simply put; I didn't rank him amongst the 500 best in the sport.)

Clottey was ranked #5 when their fight occured, Berto #6. Berto jumped to #2 by just waiting, so the fact that Mosley was lower than Berto at the time of his fight with Pac would make the fight with Clottey more legit than it

The De La Hoya fight may be the worst of the bunch. De La Hoya nearly lost his life making weight. It took medical devices to keep him upright and breathing. That fight means absolutely nothing as a result.

    good thread.

If we're talking about before the fight, I'd say this:
    Cotto
    Hatton
Oscar (I guess we didn't know he'd be a skeleton)
    Bradley
Marquez (was at 144 despite everybody asking for lower)
    Clottey
    Margarito
    Mosley

This one-Pacquiao beat JMM and JMM is the best counter puncher in the world..maybe 2nd best.

Hatton was made to look ordinary when fighting Pacman.

Pac had to settle for Clottey when Floyd asked for stupid drug tests-shut up n fight Floyd!

Did you feel that way beforehand? its oscars fault for having a dumb strategy to not rehydrate, try to stay at 147 weeks before the fight just o match the speed.

When talking about how legit fights are do you look at how legit they are when they are made or in hindsight?

Before the fight I would put oscar at 1 since pac was a big underdog there, he was favourite in all the other fights, small favourite for boxing fans vs cotto and hatton but big in all the other fights, I think bradley has now been given a bigger chance then people thought marquez had.
With marg and clottey you had this feeling the size difference could potentially bother him, mosley is logically last, that was a cherrypick.
    so beforehand legitimacy I think:
    1.hoya
    2.cotto
    3.hatton
    4. bradley
    5. jmm
    6. clottey
    7. marg
    8. mosley

Yea, DLH was and still is a good win. Oscar and everyone else expected Manny to be handily beaten and outclassed if not demolished by ODLH. Manny was moving up big time, and it's easy to forget how small he was-- and still kind of is, if you don't notice how ripped he is and those abnormally sized calves he has.

And I would honestly consider them all legitimate wins for the most part. I am only unsure what to think regarding the Mosley bout, though that is partly in hindsight owing to Mosley's antics.

yeah good point. I think I'm still letting Oscar's state coming into the fight affect him too much.

Plus I favored Pacquiao to beat Oscar, but I thought Hatton would beat him.

DLH - In hindsight, this fight is not that special but this is the fight that started it all. Most thought it was a travesty to begin with.
Cotto - First true WW fighting at an elite level.
Hatton - Undeated at 140, "the man" of the division.
    Bradley - Undefeated, prime fighter.
Clottey - Huge WW who was one of the top WWs at the time.
Margarito - 17 lb weight difference on fight night.
Marquez - Most thought it was joke of a fight.
Mosley - Joke of a fight.
