Where Julian Jackson is a 10, how would you score the following from 1 upwards?

LaMotta has average power at best, probably even below average.

Hence everyone in the thread rating him lowest. Regardless of personal perception on numerical ratings nobody has actually stated he is a powerful puncher.

I would think average power is 5 out of 10. 10 would be limited to Jackson or McClellan, with Fitz/Ketchel about 9, Pavlik 8, Robinson and Hagler 6.5, LaMotta and Greb 4, etc.

I think you're right. I'll amend my rating accordingly.

    Good post.

You really think that Fitz should be rated a level below Jackson though?

I think I would dock Pavlik .5 also.

    Robinson 9
    Hagler 7
    Tiger 6
    LaMotta 5

    I haven't seen Pavlik.

Nigel Benn would be a 10.

I think Gerald McClennan was a more concussive 1-punch hitter than all of them.

I can't "forgive" Fitz for taking so long to finish Dempsey. I just can't see the Nonpareil taking more than a couple of rounds of such beating, at best, from Jackson or McClellan. 9 still respresents exceptional, very rare power.

    Terrible post. Hagler, 6.5? Bollocks.

Nah, I'm happy with that. I would also have been happy with 7. I'd say 2-3 tiers above LaMotta and around 3 tiers below Jackson is spot on.
