I think that Munroe hasn't accomplished the most (maybe even the least), but head to head in his own weight class he's probably the best because I wouldn't pick that many guys at 160 to beat him.
^ I can vibe with this. People often have a hard time differentiating between accomplishment/resume/merit and ones' opinion of H2H ability. We all have opinions but it's tough to respect them when people are making a claim in regards to the above without being able to acknowledge this. Now, how much of each "resume/accomplishment" and "H2H ability/skill" factor into "pound for pound," well, that is up to the beholder.
Certainly to a degree on head to head ability/ skill factor. I have Golovkin rated highly pound for pound without that many notable names on his resume but the ease of which he beats decent fighters, and the fact that there isn't many in and around his weight class I would pick to even give him a decent fight counts for something.
P4P lists nowadays sort of shallow-ish and not too much between a lot of them, really. I always stress Golovkin never beating an elite opponent. Despite that I don't think one needs to value H2H and skills very much for him to be in the conversation or at the rear of top 10's... All the fringe contenders and several top 10 MW's do add up nicely.
Going off Boxrec's scoring system pre fight, this is how they would rate: 1. Daniel Geale 425 points 2. Nabjib Mohammedi 319 points 3. Andre Berto 265 points =. Willie Munroe 265 points 5. Paul Smith 105 points
Why did he try and make it seem like he was fighting a dangerous guy then. Why not just do a Billy Joe Saunders and say 'i'm fighting a bum next'
Mohammedi getting rated at the bottom by everyone it seems. Does everyone think he worse than Paul Smith? :huh
