Calderon just "good"? In the middle of the ring, he's easily one of the slickest boxers I've ever seen.

No, he blocks and slips the shots, while perfectly countering. He was never in any trouble on the ropes during his prime. Otherwise you're claiming he just had an iron chin to have taken shots from guys like Merqui Sosa. He quite handily blocked most punches that came in, or rolled them well.

And using reflexes to slip and counter is defense.

If I listed Calderon as just good then I made a mistake Calderon is excellent.

Jones is always a discussed topic when bringing up his defense.

He never had a great fundamental defense or textbook defense. I define defense as 'avoiding getting hit' so in that regard, he has to be mentioned among the best, despite defending in an unorthodox manner in which he utilized his total body co-ordination and superhuman reflexes.

And what the **** does Merqui Sosa have to do with this???

Calm down you ****ing idiot lunatic.

Merqui Sosa is pretty much the perfect example of what you're talking about, as Jones said prior to the fight that he would look to counter off the ropes against a powerful, bruising fighter, which is what he did against Sosa, blocking his shots, while countering with his own, all with his back to the ropes. He took him out within 2 with crisp counter punches setting up his fight ending flurry.

Watch any Roy Jones fight in his prime, and see how he blocks and rolls shots with his back to the ropes, such as the above-mentioned Sosa fight, or in his fight with Hopkins for a more high-profile bout. His fight with Bryant Brannon is another perfect example of this.

I think the problem here is that I actually have seen Roy Jones fight outside of past prime fights with Tarver and Glen Johnson. You? Not so much. Stick to the Lounge Cash, you're badly outclassed when it comes to boxing.
