Punching power - hard one, Nazarov IMO (perhaps a controversial opinion ?)
    Speed - Arbachakov
    Footwork - Arbachakov
    Defense - Arbachakov
    Chin - Arbachakov
    Heart - Arbachakov
    Resume - Arbachakov
    H2H - Arbachakov
    Overall P4P - Arbachakov

Well......Arbachakov is the better fighter at least IMO  and I really like Tszyu..

It's hard to say (I haven't seen Thobela fights) but yeah Nazarov hit very hard - probably on par with Kostya.

I don't recall Nazarov ever being hurt although he did face the weakest competition of the three.

I'm more inclined toward Orzubek here.

Have you seen Nazarov - Mendy, Vic?

Nazarov fought half-blind almost the entire fight.

    Kostya beat prime Super Zab!:ibutt

I like Arbachakov a lot but I still say Tszyu had better one-punch power.

All three demonstrated tons of heart. People will give Kostya **** for the Hatton fight but he had bleeding on the brain and must have known something was wrong. Plus he was past it in a single night.

In an overall context, I would put Nazarov below the other two.

Punching power - I like Tszyu here, almost has more KO's than the other guys have total fights

    Speed - no contest, Arbachakov

Footwork - none of them are great - Arbachakov seemed most "effective" doing what he wanted to do (cut off the ring) but I have only seen a couple of his fights

Defense - none stands out, all would get hit to give hits - maybe Arbachakov shades this, he also seems to me - the 'cleanest' fighter of the group in terms of both technique and fouls, but I haven't seen a lot of him.

Chin - Tszyu is good, Arbachakov is very good, Nazarov was Iron

Heart - Nazarov shades this IMO - the title fight he lost by decision he lost an eye in the THIRD round and didn't quit

Resume -Arbachkov for me, heck, 1/2 his total fights are title fights! Tszyu has good scalps though...

Overall P4P - Arbachkov, Tszyu then Nazarov but they are all very close for me. I like Nazarov's heart, Tszyu's power and Arbachkov's speed and skills!

Can anyone confirm the story that Arbachakov was kidnapped and shot either toward the end of his career or shortly thereafer?

You're probably confusing him with Sergej Kobozev, Seamus.

No, I know well the Kobozev story as I lived in Brookyln round that time. That was a Russian mob hit over some slight Kobozev gave when he was a bouncer. Cost him his life.

The incident I am curious about, and read about (if my mind is not going), occurred in Central Asia.

    Nice thread.

Nazarov is my favourite and the toughest. Tszyu the harder puncher and arguably the most accomplished of the three although the stiffest and my least favourite. Arbachakov is the flat out best all-round of the three IMO.

Arbachakov, like many other little guys 80s onwards, struggles because he didn't unify.
