Yeah so I underrated Fenech a bit, a lot to be said for his career being short and sharp rather than tons of defences vs eurobums but noone is going to convince me Calzaghe is anything less than one of the greatest 168lb ever.

I admit Ive been a fan of his for years ever since he came out of nowhere, full of cockiness and beat Eubank, hes a class puglist and a born winner even among winners IMO
He was the best in the world for 10 years or so as Jones wasnt at 168 and remember when he eventually edged Hopkins he didnt have home support.
Jones is on record somewhere rating him highly when Jones was still P4P#1 and Jones was cocky as hell in those days and didnt rate anyone much

I dont know why they didnt fight but I think it was a combination of Frank Warren being his usual protectionist self, and Jones not wanting to risk his rep against an unknown (in USA)

Sure Hopkins might have been sharper vs Calz years before, but he was world champion and thought to be in his prime by most media. I dont read much into the Jones result but Calzaghe beat everyone (besides Ottke who I dont count much) for 12 years as champ and you cant discount that.

Sure he was only WBO champ for most of his reign, but who was there to beat in the US? He beat contenders like Mitchell and Brewer and then demolished the IBF champ Lacy who was self-evidently the best USA had to offer.

Anyway Im out its Sat nite, have a good one all

Calzaghe has the best record of the lot, a record that still doesn't do justice to his talent.

Tszyu is the second best of the lot in terms of ability, but is joint second with the other two, resume wise. So he gets the nod for 2nd greatest.
