Riddick Bowe, real talent, never a puncher in the same league as Tyson, Foreman or Liston. Can you imagine Tyson taking two free bare knuckle shots to Larry Donald's jaw and Larry not even going backwards? Me neither.

    This is about right.

I think Frazier is more an 8.5/9, and Tyson is a 9.5.

Good responses so far, especially serious post from Boxed Ears which was unexpected :happy

I also always thought that Holyfield has very good power, considering that he dropped Qawi, Bowe, Mercer, Tyson - guys who could take a punch.

    Mine list is -
    Liston 9.5
    Ali 6.5
    Frazier 8
    Foreman 10
    Holmes 6.5
    Tyson 9.5
    Holyfield 7.5
    Bowe 8.5
    Lewis 9
    Vitali 8
    Wlad 9.5

There is a lot of consensus here. Boxed ears seems very close to precisely right to me.

Many here know we are not talking about effectiveness, combinations, accuracy, volume...
Which would elevate already high guys like Frazier a bit too high.
Rocky, Tyson a bit higher at 9 max.

Baer & Golata maybe 9.5, & there are likely a bunch of non champ quality guys 9/9.5 with their best punch. Ruddock, Morrison, Smith maybe, Tua...

Lyle, Williams, others a 9 or just about.

Shavers an 11? I buy that.

Limited skills, endurance, accuracy, chin, but tremendous punch leverage, looks like he combined heavy/huge hands & arms for his size with great explosiveness.
