Of these, only Ali and Tyson truly transcended the sport internationally, especially Ali.

Louis and Robinson were huge, huge names of course but mainly in boxing circles. They did transcend the sport in America though, but elsewhere? Probably not.

Oscar, Floyd and Many are boxing superstars, but certainly they don't transcend the sport. Manny in the Phillipines yeah, but probably not elsewhere.

Sorry, forgot Leonard. I'd put him in with Louis and Robinson. Huge, but not really transcending the sport other than in the US, and even then, he was nowhere near on their level for that.

Actually, he's probably closer to Mayweather and Oscar, but bigger than those guys in his day.

Believe it or not, but basketball is a small sport in most of Europe. People who play basketball (because there are some if few..) will of course know him, but the average citizen will not have a clue whether Michael Jordan is an actor or an attorney.

he couldve been one of the biggest. he was well known in his hey days. had he fought morales, marquez, even pacquiao, damn he would be as known as oscar de la hoya, maybe even more. but his career was to short.

I do think Pacquiao is more famous than Oscar on a worldwide level. . . In USA, no. . . But in Asia, definitely. . . I bet if there was a way to poll every person in the world, more people would know Pacquiao than Oscar. . .

I don't think a lot of people realize how popular, and well known Manny is in Asia. . . And NOT just the Philippines.

    CHempaSSSSILLLLOOOOOO!! Hahaha FAT DOG!!!
