How in the world people are seeing much in this performance is beyond me. Thompson looked like **** and walked around hiding behind his guard. He totally lacked desire and i truly expected more effort.

All Wlad does at this point is throw 2 or 3 shots and tie-up. He looked very afraid of being hit and this performance was very unimpressive in my view.

How COMPUSNOTS had thompson throwing 408 punches is beyond reason. Thompson is lucky if he threw 250 punches the entire fight.

Sam Peter, Alexander Povetkin, and Arreola are the fights i'd like to see for Wlad. if he fights any of them as he fought Thompson tonight? His reign will END:yep

Haven't seen the fight, but from what I heard it was a pretty impressive Wald display. Right I'm away to bed (finally, approaching mid morning). Will be back online before the weekend's over and will have seen fight highlights.

Seems most people rated his performance between 5 and 8. Seems like a fair range to me.

He could have thrown more combos which would have left more holes forhis right.

But, the Klitschko was made to work and fought at a very good pace and he got the late ko.

I gave him an 8 he got the ko against a SOUTHPAW who was tough and with good defence.

P.S. David Haye Klitschko ISNT Macarrinelli:good

    A very harsh 4.

He was laborious and sluggish. Only a few times in eleven rounds did he try and open up and it was only when he thought Thompson was ready for the finish.

There was no urgency and he held and mauled way too much. He got the win and the knockout but failed to impress me at all after the Ibragimov snoozefest.

That's just bull****. Ali was an olympic gold medalist, champion for several years, yet he was bothered and beaten by the style of both Frazier & Norton.

And before everyone goes ape****, no i'm not comparing Wlad to Ali, i'm just saying that "he should know that style" is a dumbass argument that doesn't even hold up to the greatest standard.

    Don't underestimate Thompson. He's a clever boxer.

I think that 9 is quite fair. That was a spectacular KO.

If Wladimir has KOed his sparing partner between rounds 1 - 3, I would have given him a "10"

A KO in round 4 would have earned him a "9"

    5 a "8"

    6 a "7"

    7 - "6"

    8 - "5"

    9 - "4"

10 - "3" This is what I generously gave him.

It took him 10 rounds to stop a sparing partner. Not much to brag about here.

Thompson was the mandatory, if anyone does not like it, they write the WBO and complain. Teddy Atlas said that Thompson would knock Vlad out, it was a mismatch. Atlas is still puking.

What's Vlad supposed to do refuse to fight his mandatories? Yeah, that's what the haters would love, if he were to do that, he would get stripped of the title, which is what they want. Thompson fans said he would beat Vlad. What happened?

No one is bitching that he fought Thompson. They are bitching about how he fought Thompson. I don't think anyone, even Atlas thought Thompson was going to win.

I mostly agree with your assessment, though I deem that warrants a six.
