Not much to separate em imo. Both aged well to. I've got Lennox at 3 and George at 4. Who do you have at the higher spot? Most successful British heavyweight or The oldest champion??
One of the classic comparisons IMO. These two are in line for the fourth spot but both are top five HWs IMO. I've always rated Lewis higher, though. Foreman's positives are weakish, but his negatives don't take away from him anywhere near as much as Lewis' do, IMO. But I can't help but rate Lewis' much deeper résumé higher. Sure, he didn't beat a Joe Frazier, and he didn't become lineal champ after a ten year lay off, setting a record for 25 years while in his mid thirties, but he did go 15-2-1 vs Ring top ten rated fighters, amassing one of the more impressive résumés in heavyweight history.
Louis beat a slew of fighters better than a shot Tyson and a slew of fighters better than Frank Bruno. Louis is 38-3 vs ranked fighters. That puts Lewis' record to shame, and Lewis' record is damn good.
Louis has a quantity of good fighters on his resume and Lewis has a few elite fighters on his resume and I would confidently pick V Klitschko and Holyfield even from the Lewis 2 fight to beat everyone who Louis beat when I rank a fighter, quantity doesn’t come in to it it is out of the two who beat the best fighter, but different people rank fighters in different ways and that is my way
Compare Foreman-Lyle with Lewis-Rahman. Watch those fights. Both poor prime performances from the men in question. But if you don't see Foreman is better than Lewis, YDKSAB.
