Concerning ATG fighters. There are often topics of discussion on how overrated and underrated fighters are. Often there are extremes for both sides with certain fighters, it maybe the case that the two opposing sides equal each other out and the fighter's class is somewhere in the middle, but this is not what im asking for.

Name some fighters who you think are almost certainly, generally, by the majority of people, rated as they are.

Well Robinson and Armstrong are generally rated in the top 1-3 of all time and I don't think there's any worthwhile argument for rating them anywhere other than that.

Ali can't be rated lower than #1 or 2 at Heavyweight,it just isn't possible.

Seems like i agree with most on Archie Moore. I have him just outside the top 10 no lower than 15, seems like most people rate him the same. Willie Pep is rated accordingly by most. Same with SRR,Armstrong,Charles. Most here rate Duran accordingly although certain posters here underrate him.

    Stupid actually.

I understand how some may have Louis ahead of Ali (not me personally) but anyone else, forget about it.

    Marciano? Inferior competion,so no.

Holmes? Didn't meet any and all challenges and didn't give rematches to guys who deserved them (Spoon,Williams,Norton) so no.

Dempsey? Didn't fight Wills, was inactive as champion and got schooled twice by Tunney,so no.

Tyson? Was past his peak by 23,suffered devastating losses to two heavy underdogs and never overcame adversity to post a win,so no.

Lewis? Got stopped by two second raters so no.

Add to that Ali looked so damn impressive on film at his best which makes me think your 4th place ranking of him is really only an attempt to differentiate yourself from the consensus opinion of him.

    Or you're :nut,whichever it is.

While both are great, and universally both are given top3 spots here, I'd say both are overrated, down to the fact people laugh at the thought of anyone beating or giving them a close fight at their prime weight when both had many close fights or losses at their prime weights

Who's beating Robinson at 147 that we're all so narrow-mindedly over-looking, then, according to you?

Whoever I pick would be laughed at but consider the following. Galivan may well have beaten him, Basora/Brimm earned a draw against him, wasn't he boo'ed when he got a SD against Servo? What about his MD to California Wilson? What about the MD against the smaller Dykes? All question marks

Did Robinson really turn down Burley for a career high payday? (seen it mentioned on here)

So what? If Mayweather was fighting up to multiple times a month against the best fighters out there - say, Pacquiao three times, Hatton twice, Castillo four times, DLH twice, Mosley twice, Martinez, Berto, Williams - it's fair to say he'd at least be in a few debatable fights. No fighter - not even the GOAT - can be active against top competition constantly and not have a handful of close fights. Really, it's a miracle he didn't lose more than he did.

Anyway, you haven't answered my question. You were bitching about Classic not giving people a shot at Robinson. If that's a problem, you should at least be able to point to someone you think reasonably would give him problems on his best night.

    I think this is fair.

You mentioned the guys who some say might have beaten him at his best weight.

Plus, Tommy Ryan had a virtually identical career. The Bob Fitzsimmons who beat the non pareil Jack Dempsey would be the hardest hitting fighter Robinson ever faced, of that there is not much if any doubt. He has a pretty good chance of beating him
