Well you said it. He was great.

I think I could find space at #10 for Lewis as a light heavyweight.

Controversially, I think the light heavyweight division is stronger than the middleweights. It's a tough one of course. Are the Jake LaMottas, Tiger Flowers' and Gene Fullmers greater than John Henry Lewis, Harold Johnson and Billy Conn?

I know plenty about Lewis, you just don't rate Hagler you've said it yourself that you think he is overated where as I think he is underated

Unfortunately the only footage I've seen of John Henry Lewis is him being flattened by Joe Louis in one round. That might be part of the reason why he gets underrated. On the other hand we have every single important fight of Hagler's in good quality so we can accurately evaluate his abilities.

I have a poster of Marvin Hagler on my wall. I have his career collection, and went out of my way to purchase a couple of rarer ones that weren't included. He's my favourite middleweight and a top five favourite regardless of division.

But this isn't about like or dislike, it's about being as objective and reasonable as one can be. John Henry Lewis, for his time, was probably not far behind Marvin Hagler in status, yet he hardly gets a mention - understandable, because Lewis existed further back in time and is now much less relevant than Hagler. But if you're going to rate fighters, do it properly, is what I'm trying to say.

P.S. - I do rate Hagler higher. But yes, he's overrated in terms of achievements. Of course he is.

I do rate fighters properly which is by there ability, Hd 2 Hd capabilties, performance's, quality of opposition and there dominance and longevity

which Hagler is superior in, which is why I rate him as a greater fighter than Lewis

what wrong with saying that, why do you take it as "oh I must'nt know anything about Lewis and Lewis is crap just because I rate someone above him"

But by how much is Hagler superior?

    Got a pound-for-pound list?

I don't have a rock solid Pd 4 Pd list because there been so many great fighters through out the years its to much of a head ache to do a list I'm happy with. But based on the way I rate my fighters like I shown you in my previous post I'd have Hagler in my top ten.
