    My ratings

    Technical Ability - 8, He throws his punches with very good technique, in his prime (07) possessed one of the best One Two's in the game. I think he was very solid in the technique department

    Defence - 7, He has a strong European style guard which is hard to punch through. But he lacks head movement. But opponents find it hard to come into range to land because of his strong jab, but when faced with a World class opponent (JC) who can mix up his attack to head and body his defence doesn't look that good

    Offence     - 8, I think he was one of the best offensive fighters at his best, he had great power and fast hands also a great finisher. Offensively he was near complete.

    Footwork - 7, He has good general movement with decent speed, he moves well side to side and is able to close down the distance but nothing spectacular about his footwork.

    Accuracy - 7, He has good accuracy but not great. He was very accurate with his jab and right hand, a fighter wouldn't go unpunished by Kessler if they became to static during a fight.

    Power - 7.5, many might have contrasting opinion on his power in my opinion in this instance his KO ratio of 70% gives a accurate representation of the power he has. He was able to hurt Froch and Calzaghe who both posses a granite chin; Good but not Great

    Speed - 7, He can throw quick jabs and right hands. He has good speed in his combination But he was never known for his speed.

    Versatility - 6, He is able to both Box and Brawl. He outslugged froch in a FOTY contender to regain his WBC belt. But when faced with a better boxer he hasn't found the answers - vs Ward, JC adapted after 5 and Kessler didn't follow suit in adapting to the change in JC instead he fought the way he did from round 1 to 12.

    Stamina - 8, He was able to throw fast power punchers for the full 12 rounds without seeming to tire. He looked the fresher of the two in the froch fight and even able to mantain his workrate after recieving body blows from JC, he also had a high workrate through out the fight against Andrade

    Heart - 9, he is a fighter that will keep coming and trying even till the last bell. Never seems to quit or lose self belief.

    Chin - 10, Truly great chin, Never been down and he took some big punches from Froch. Probably his biggest asset

    Physical Attributes - 7.5, at 6'1'' he is a big 168 fighter more importantly he has a decent reach of 74'' and he knows how to use it, he can mantain the distance with his excellent jab.

    Overall - 7.5

    Some attributes are missing though such as Cut/Swelling resistance and Corner ect...

    Kessler has good skills, but has always been a B level fighter.
    Today, he has 1-2 big fights left in him, mainly due to what little hype still remains. I expect after his next big loss to Froch or Bute, he will float off into obscurity to end his career where it began. In Denmark fighting dishwashers and soccer player.

    depends on what you rate as B level fighter, in his prime he would have beaten every 168 pounder now, dirrel and ward would give him tough fights maybe beat him due to styles

    aren't you the guy who rate bute as a b level fighter who fights only janitors in his backyard with his corupt referees and has no chin or skills?how can he ever beat kessler?and froch already lost to him....are you even watch boxing or just hang around on boxing forums trashing every boxer who's not black or american?

    Why do you even react to this guy's crap? Everytime he finds a thread about a good non American boxer he does anything to ruin it.
    Just put him on your ignore list, and forget about him.

    The guy also has Ward on his p4p list I bet. Despite Ward's only claim to a position on said list is by virtue of fouling Kessler's face to shreds. ROFL @ that joke of a poster.

    Honestly like Montoya is saying: We haven't' seen the very best of Mikkel Kessler yet. I'd give him 8,7 so far he's only failed against the greatest (Maybe not Ward) of the division. He won against Froch, who beat: JP,JT,AD,AA and Glen johnson, which i think is gonna be remembered as his defining fight. But i think Kessler can go further with Montoya as his coach

    That's an insane suggestion.

    Kessler is a world-level fighter. This is easily seen by his technique, athleticism, and his record.

    He's only lost two fights...one to arguably the greatest SMW ever, and one to arguably the greatest SMW around today.

    A lot better fighters have worse losses on their record.
