Australian refs are just god awful, They are really REALLY Bad. Not so say most refs are great anywhere else because most of them have some problem but the Australian ones are just really a joke.

Best plan is to not let the ref get involved at all and to take the fight out of the ref & judges hands all together imo be it in aussie, germany or USA.
BIGGEST problem with refs in ALL SPORTS! is the fact they want to share the spotlight with the sports stars and they should NOT even try....Refs and umpires are there to do their job NOT to share the spotlight. Take that F**KING Joe Cortese is one of the KEY problems here with every damn fight HE HOLDS the fighters hands back and has to say "Remember guys Im fair but im firm" BULL**** he should not be holding them back to get his big ass ugly head on TV he should just say you know the rules so come out fighting NOT Have his own line. Umpires in AFL are getting worse and worse because they are now on Mics so we can hear everything they say and it has only made them bigger fools as they try to act like films stars rather then ref the game. It is a key problem in sport and it has to change, Do the job and stop trying to share the spotlight you damn FOOLS!!!!!
That's f_cking brilliant Leon...how did we not see through 'PATRICK' ourselves...bloody charlatan! You should use your devise on a few more characters around here Leon...and only for good, not for evil! ...oh, and bad news pal, cause I know your that f_cken 'PETE' who rang the radio station mate!!
The thread started with some support for Les Fear, who I reckon would be the first to admit the Channel ONE show wasn't his best night. But equally Malcolm Bulner, who's performance the other night probably propelled this tread, is entitled to a bad one. As stated on another thread, Bulner has been reffing for close on 40 years, and been all over the world for title fights etc. Maybe he's getting on and starting to lose the edge? But hey, we could certainly do with more like that guy. ...and Patrick, I reckon your okay too mate.
What Bulmer done was premature at worst. He knows a points deduction was going to be useless. Hoppa is Hoppa. Malcolm is a competent & accomplished senior referee & I think mainline criticism (Micheal etc.) has been taken out of context. They disagreed with what he done, that's all. I can't think of one referee that has not had a bad night, missed something, made a wrong call, of just faulted in some way. What sport doesn't. The biggest problem with our refereeing is not the skill, but the appointments system. It stinks:tired
The problem with Malcolm's night is that he has been on the slide for some time. He was at the top of his game quite a sensational referee but those days are behind him by some time. Like I said earlier Rodin, every official has an off night, doesn't mean they are crap - means they had an off night. But if a pattern is established then they need to have a think about their future and go out on their own terms...
