because a Ref has the future and heath of 2 men in their hands and they can not allow themselves to have a bad night and make excuses for it.... As I said before Refs and umpire like the spotlight far too much and they want to be just as big as the stars and it is ruining all sports.
No weak****, you think they like the spotlight too much because they have the balls to get up and do what you do not have the strength of character to do. To say a ref cannot have a bad night is just ludicrous and illogical, it also highlights the fact that you really don't know the subject well enough to comment
We are not in total disagreement here. As you say, the ref can't afford a bad night because he has the health of two men in his hands. But unfortunately ref are human (I'm pretty sure anyway), and humans make mistakes and have off nights. Same as fighters. They have their health in their hands, and they make mistakes, and when they do they invariably get hurt.
Waynesmale, I think you're generalising a bit. Not all refs are trying to play superstar and on the whole I reckon we've got more good than bad. I just think it's time that a couple of them took a long hard look at themselves and their performances and admitted that their time's up. I've started with one positive and one negative so how about some more input.
Why is it that Aussie refs allow boxers to grab and hold so much? The US Is really strict on it. They would get D''qed in most countries.
Does Les Fear drop down a notch after last nights effort? There are some seriously bad referees around at the moment....
