Just watched this fight on youtube and Povetkin was missing a lot of shots because of Whyte`s high guard, are people undderrating Whyte`s defense and how much should Dillian`s defense be rate out of 10?

Standing there trying to block and counter shots didn't go that well did it.

Whyte has poor defense, hence getting caught like he did.

Come on man, he's a punch bag, easy to hit, leans forward, can't move his feet well, no head movement, stands still way to long...

He's not got a great defense at all

Anyone standing with a high guard and throwing as few punches as dillian Whyte was is bound to block alot of shots. His defense is terrible which is why he was knocked into next year by a 41 year old who could hardly stay on his feet

Whyte lost the first 2 rounds...

All of these heavyweights are dumb plodders with a lack of defence. Whyte especially.

He landed some quality jabs I wouldnt say constantly. Not sure how impressed we should be with that anyways considering how slow povetkin looked and dillian whytes significant reach advantage

Povetkin beat him with simple footwork. Always half a step ahead of Whyte...and he was the one moving forward not Whyte.

Whyte should have been making Povetkin unsure but even after the knockdowns Povetkin was happy to continue attacking the same way.

Beauty of boxing really, all them intricacies we can't see...interestingly enough it was Whyte who managed to find his short counters and do the big damage first.

Whyte's body language says it all, I think Povetkin is always going to be a tough fight for him, same as Chisora was.

He should edge it over 12 rounds with his youth however.

I don't think a balls to the wall early approach will work against Povetkin.

I think Whyte really has to jump on Povetkin if he can drop him hard though. Don't sit back worried about "swings". Povetkin's legs will fail him for a short time after a knockdown.

Yeah that's what I saw as well. It was almost as if Whyte had no answer for Povetkins fundamentals.

Whyte was a sucker for the upper cut always standing still with his hands up round the sides of his head .British level fighter . I wouldn't of lasted with mason or Bruno .sparing partner for Lewis
