3 scottish boxers are involved in british title eliminators over the weekend. jordan mccorry vs ronnie clark fighting friday at ravenscraig and iron mike towell takes on englishman robert dixon on the saturday at paisley lagoon.

jordan mccorry vs ronnie clark: i initially favoured clark for this one but after speaking to a few guys around glasgow i am starting to edge towards mccorry. i think his extra size advantage and the fact he likes to work in every round will mean that he just nicks the fight by 2 rounds. i like rclark and thought he did well against cacace but i just feel that he likes to admire his work at times and just can't seem to let his hands go on the inside. :good

iron mike towell vs robert dixon: really fancy towell to blow dixon away within 6 rounds, i have watched him on 5 occasions as a pro now and he is really looking the part as he progresses. he is relentless and hits hard, i have only seen dixon once when i attended a show in inverness when on holiday and he beat rhys pagan but he doesn't seem to have the pop to stop iron mike from imposing himself on him. mike blew pagan away and dixon although getting the win didn't look that comfortable doing so. :good

i will be attending on of these shows but going by boxers then the ravenscraig one looks decent:
scottish title/british eliminator mccorry vs clark,
scottish title eddie doyle vs mcshane although this doesn't look the best fight on the bill i fancy mcshane to put the last nail in the eddie doyle coffin and stop him late on cuts. doyle is a shadow of the amateur fighter who won scottish titles and represented scotland. shame he is a nice guy,
craig mcewan making his long awaited return to the ring and he has hooked up with stevie mcguire so hopefully mcewans stamina issues will be a thing of the past and we can see craig build his way to a british title shot. and michael mcgurk + 2 others on the bill.

there isn't much about the paisley lagoon show just the british eliminator with towel and dixon.

how do you see these fights going and does anyone know more about the paisley lagoon show? I've heard that cornish and carslaw will be on but as i said there isn't anything on boxrec?

Two good shows Friday and Saturday
Jordan will be much bigger come fight time in this contest, a big factor will be in the corner, jason has peter harrison whos a great coach been there seen it done it and Ronnie is being coached by a local guy from what ive heard, why he split with david mc alistair i dont know david is an up and coming coach imo.
Craig's will always have stamina issues you cant turn it around at his age although he is a very talented fighter.
i wil be keeping an eye on the light welter fight between Shane and Eddie id like Jason Easton in with either next
Mike towell is in a very hard contest againstdixon im told dixon is very skilled that may not suit mikes style
best of luck to all the boys at the weekend

Hi Billy, it was just hard with me being in Aberdeen and him being in Dundee either way if I travelled or he travelled then it was taking a lot of time. Also it has been very hard for me travelling with him as much as I would like with the wife due on April 8th and it has been a horrible pregnancy! It has been very amicable and he knows that he can call me anytime and I will help him if possible.

On the actual fight I still think that Ronnie will win, Jordan has never done Super Featherweight before and I think he might fade late on because of the weight cut. Ronnie by UD

Agree with OP about Eddie Doyle being one loss from retiring but I still think he will have too much skill for Shaun McShane and see him winning UD.

I hope Craig knuckles down and has a good finish to what could have been a very good career and I would like to see him at least fight for the British Title.

I also give Mikey a great chance on Saturday, my lad Marek Laskowski boxed Robert Dixon down in Newcastle and he is only a Light Welter but said he didn't find him strong. Good boxer but don't see him managing to stop Mike with his marauding style. Points decision in this one too though!
