Dietary cholesterol has no influence on blood cholesterol. Blood cholesterol depends on your health in general.

You don't want raw eggs. You dont want to be eating 8 yolks either. Egg white omelette people or poach and get rid of some of the yolks.

The everlasting egg discussion. He'll lose it indeed. If 8 egg yolks are too much you should simply eat 4 whole eggs instead of throwing away half the protein and all of the nutrients.

2g of Protein per Kilo of bodyweight is considered the absolute max RDA and thats for a body builder. Seems like some of you are going a bit crazy with the protein.

That I agree with. Some of the people here must fart all day long. Having said that, some may be a lot bigger than me, and like sam for instance on a powerlifting routine.

“Several types of evidence indicate that exercise causes substantial changes in protein metabolism. In fact, recent data suggests that the protein recommended dietary allowance might actually be 100% higher for individuals who exercise on a regular basis. Optimal intakes, although unknown, may be even higher, especially for individuals attempting to increase muscle mass and strength.”

Those of us that are in pursuit of above average muscle mass with extraordinary strength may in fact need more than what the sacred 'RDA' recommends. Maybe I'm not going crazy with it after all.:silly

Raw eggs are possibly the best food you can have, top5 for sure, as an athlete even more so.

ALL fats are good fats. What isn't good is excess.

YOU NEED EVERY KIND OF FAT TO BE HEALTHY.

Don't worry about cholesterol. Blood cholesterol is a function of the body & your genetics, NOT of your diet. If you have bad genetics, you will have high cholesterol unless you have a Spartan diet and a workout regimen. If you have good genetics, you will not get high cholesterol most likely regardless of your diet. I have low cholesterol and I absolutely should not, but everyone in my family has low cholesterol; it is genetic. OTOH, there are people with good diets and high cholesterol. Blood cholesterol is not a function of diet!

I'm intrigued by the raw eggs thing. I shall try it.

That's complete ****ing horse****. That should be the MINIMUM for strength athletes. Holy ****! At 180lbs you need 200grams of protein a day to get good gains, ideally. Excess protein won't really hurt you, just take days off from it to give the liver a rest. Even so, much healthier than being a couch potato.

Yeh your right. Just the cholesterol genetics thing id disagree with. yes you can be genetically susceptible to high chol and you can be more impervious to it. But not immune. You can have good genetics but if you eat crap you can still get high cholesterol. Thats why high cholesterol is both diet and medication controlled.

Also on the other hand to validate your point, my grandad now in his late 80's had extremely low cholesterol , always ate full fat foods and animal fats. But never in excess. so both genetics and diet have played a roll! Dont think they are mutually exclusive!
