Absolute diabolical commentry last night from them , especially Rawling. If there was ever a commentater influenced by the crowd it is him. If anyone disagrees watch round 11 again. Froch was snapping johnsons head back with some lovely shots and barely gets and acknoledgement , but johnson lands one shot and Rawling shits his pants with excitement along with the very pro-johnson crowd. It was like this for most of the fight. ****in useless.

Yeah they were **** and against Froch, watt did his usual trick of making his mind up early and refusing to change it.

Do we have to have this thread every single week?

Yeah, they weren't great, but the certainly weren't anti Froch. John Rawling is about as big of a Froch fan as anyone on here.

100% agree. I turned the sound off in the end as I inevitably always do.

They did seem biased against Froch a bit, which was strange really.

I just wish they'd spend a bit of time discussing what the non-Brit needs to do to win. Its always about what the Brit is or isn't doing.

Yeah, that's the main reason I try and get American commentary where possible. With Sky it's always the British fighter and his opponent who they don't really know a lot about.

don't think they were anti froch but def with their scoring perhaps trying to make sure they couldnt be acused of being pro froch (i had it by 4-5 rounds they said 1 and 2 didnt they) similar to watt during the haye valuev fight seems he trys so hard not to be accused of being pro the british fighter he takes it the other way and picks apart every small weakness or mistake of the brit fighter but not his opponent

Totally agree. Just said in the RBR thread.

It's like Watt scores fights on 1)assumption of judges scoring 2)him not agreeing with tactics of British Fighter. 3)Crowd Influence. Jim score the got damn fight on just that the fight!. Not where the fights being held or who champion is.

I genuinely believe Froch was never hurt but any of them punches because he came back right away looking strong.

I remember in a early round Johnson throw a overhand right and Froch rode back and turned away and took it in back and you see the red mark right away and Rawling goes ''Great Shot by Johnson!!!!!!''....:-(

Yep. The commentry and scoring from those two was mad again last night. Both men seemed swayed by the one decent punch Johnson landed a round rather than the several good lands by Froch.

Well it show's that people aren't happy with it.
If there is enough threads, maybe Smith will see sense and get rid of the awful Rawling for the big fights and get Darkey back on. Because at the end of he day they don't compare as commentators.

    ^^^ I agree.

Rawling might be a nice guy, but I'm not a fan of his commentary, at times its as though he thinks his commentating on the grand national, or the radio, rather than on television.

When Hopkins fought Pascal I felt he was giving Hopkins too much of the benefit of the doubt at times, due to favoritism.

Can easily live without Watt and Rawling. Ian Darke/Glen McCrory worked, go back to that i say.
