The funniest part about your lying rant here is that Whitaker never knocked out a great fighter. You are a pathetic liar.

Whitaker was not a puncher. He outboxed fighters and also Azumah Nelson who was better than anyone Duran fought below 147.. Not true?? Very true. But Duran this warrior who demolished guys never knocked out a great fighter. Another fact. Who was the great fighter he knocked out. The best guy he stopped was a washed up Pipino Cuevas which got him his fight with Davey Moore pretty much. But you being the bs person, and I know a bs person when I hear one, you tried to act like honesty is important to you yet I know it isn't by the way you used first one thing to demean me and then another when that didn't work. You know it also. You know you are the dishonest guy and that makes you insecure. Getting back to Duran- Duran never knocked out a great fighter. That is fact. He is not top 10 ATG. That is what is this is about, and I will always say what I feel about Duran . Always. To me he is a bit overrated but he is a great fighter. Ray was the variable. Ray won easily once he moved.. Move get your space punch, move.. Easy for him to beat Duran.

Good, then you got one thing right. He is not top 10 ATG you said. To me he is not top ten ATG. To be a great you have to beat greats.. Ray Leonard? Ray was on his 2nd title defense of his first title. He later became greater when he learned boxing was about the mental/physical aspect. When he put it all together. Benitez as a little over a year after Ray beat him easily in the rematch. And Benitez beat him easily. A weight Duran fought at before Hearns/Benitez/Leonard fought there.. As early as 1978

who said he did. You don't know how to read besides being a low person. I said he outboxed everyone. He was not a puncher, so why would I say he stopped anyone. Duran was a brutal guy as most people will say or assume, so why didn't he knock out great fighters like he did Davey Moore at 154. Or even Lampkin at 135. Pernell beat an ATG in Azumah Nelson at 135. a fighter who was greater and better than anyone Duran fought below 147. That is a fact. Again your low deceptive ways are getting in the way of your logic and your ability to read..

You never said he was or wasn't? He wasn't top 10 ATG. I am saying he was not. I don't care where you rate him. I am making a statement. He is an excusemaking fighter who made excuses everytime he lost to a great and most people rank him top 10 ATG from what I can see, and I do not agree.

Do you have all these Duran hate posts sitting there ready to paste or do you post them anew each time? It's a bit disturbing given you've got hundreds dating back to a decade or so ago. Bit of an obsession going on there mate.

Honestly, I think it is more disturbing this guy acting like a 6 year old on here rather than me talking about Duran on a boxing message board, but yes I believe this about Duran. It sounds the same as before
because this is what I believe and have for 30 years. Where is the hate posts? I have not said anything against Duran, I am talking about boxing here and my standards for what makes a fighter top 10 ATG. And if I say why I do not think he is at that level. somehow that is a hate post? That is ridiculous. And he made excuses. That is not hate, that is the truth. Everytime he lost to a great, he made excuses and his fans somehow believe it. If Porter loses tonight can he say he ate 2 steaks and drank a gallon of water and people say ok that is why. Can he say he didn't train? People would say that is nonsense. Who cares what he says. He lost or Garcia lost. No one wants excuses I don't. Like when Donald Curry said he had weight problems against Honeyghan. I don't care much about that. Everyone has something. Lloyd came to fight and won. Now if Donald would have outboxed him and made him quit and won a third fight easier, you have to say something for that. And Donald was also beaten by McCallum.

I really think Roberto is overrated a bit by the idea and people think he is top 10 ATG.
He was fortunate to have relatively lower level at 135 than he did later where he could showcase his ferocity.
Now I am not saying that he could not have beaten higher level had he had it but he did not. That is a fact.
He fought higher level fighters when he moved up. So his career is a little deceptive in rating. If people bring up the Duran subject and have a thread which says Duran is the greatest ever I respond, if they did not I would not. I do not like excuses and I like fighters to get the proper respect for wins. If you look at Sugar Ray Leonard, he beat them all. Marvin,Tommy,Roberto,Wilfred. He did what I say is the mark of a great fighter. Beat great fighters. And some people actually say Duran was the variable when it is very obvious from Ray and Roberto's fight that Ray was the one who dictated how the fight would go. He fought Duran's fight, and look at the first round. I cannot say these things any other way. If this sounds like it did in 2008 it is because what changed? You call them hate posts, but I don't think I insulted Duran at all. I am talking about his skills in boxing nothing personal. What is the hate post?

Everything I write is right now and I can only write about something the same way.

Terrific observation but if I remember correctly there really wasn't too much cry for a rematch for despite the brutality it was a very short and conclusive fight.

It is an interesting post. I do not think Duran is over rated but I do feel he fought much better fighters post lightweight and had to showcase a far different set of skills as he moved up. We really began to see it against Palomino. The first Leonard fight was a classic and I feel it was a combination of both Duran making Leonard fight his fight and Ray choosing to. Either way it was an exceptional performance by Roberto as Ray Leonard was the second best welter who ever lived in my book. Duran never came close to that fight again as he simply could not dedicate himself the same way but as he fought on for many years he showed a ton of over all skill against a myriad of good and near great fighters, larger and/or younger than himself.
