Ray was faster, and was a better combination puncher, two attributes that would give him a good advantage in this matchup.....
Mancini was one tough guy in the ring and that title fight between him and Kim was one of the most brutal in that era. Unfortunately, Kim died from injuries sustained in that fight, but before it was over, I feel it could have gone either way as both men were taking a hell of a beating. Because of this, the WBC changed their rules to make all title fights 12 instead of 15 rounds. As much as I liked Hatton, I feel Mancini takes this one inside 6 by KO.
Wow....I am not sure if everyone has thought this through? or if they think rather highly of Ray and/or low of Ricky? I really only picked this fight because they are 2 of my favorite swarmers. Ray only fought 2 X's @ this weight, and lost both (although in fairness I did have him beating Camacho and feel that was a major robbery)...I just don't think Ray would be strong enough to handle Ricky even if his skill/speed is a hair quicker (not even sure about that at this weight)...He certainly ain't stopping Ricky at 140....I will take Ricky 8 rds to 4.
l agree with you, l would say hatton by comfortable points win.i think hatton was stronger and faster than boom boom. would mancini be able to beat tszyu, i doubt it.would hatton lose to bramble twice? i doubt it.you guys need to just stop.
P4P I might say Mancini was greater???? But I am not sure about that either. There really is not much love for Ricky on this forum, and what there once was has disintegrated in light of his 2 loses. I like Mancini alot, I just don't see him beating Ricky H2H @ 140.
Mancini @ lightweight was a better fighter than Hatton @ 140...but not by a hell of a lot. Hatton's size, strength and suffocating style brings them close to about even in a H2H fight..I probably slightly favour Ricky actually.
