Just caught him on sky sports news shedding a couple of tears and he does seem genuinely upset but he also claimed the reason for Hattons addiction drink/drugs was because he'd felt he'd let everyone down with his losses and just couldnt cope with it. **** off! why do celebs always need an underlying issue for there addictions? He's been doing it for years, I'd rather he came out and said " Listern i just like a good time like most 20 to 40 year olds" I dont actually begrudge him or calzaghe getting off there rocker now and again. They havnt really had as free a life as most, more so calzaghe its unfair to say they cant after the ammount of work theve put in. But to say its because he feels like he's let everyone down is pathetic
I just dont get what all the fuss is about. hatton is the type to eat junk food and hit the clubs and pubs and get pissed as **** - all the time. so he likes a few lines of coke to top it all off. Hardly a surprise is it ? What exactly did people take Hatton for - A Angel from heaven or something who did no wrong ?
If the NOTW reported a double spread article every rich and famous person who used cocaine they would not have enough pages in their paper every sunday. They just pick on the ones who they feel will cause scandal and sit back then and watch the reaction of the public.
Apparently it said on bbc sport that he was depressed and upset, ill try get the post from the website G
Former world boxing champion Ricky Hatton has consulted a rehabilitation specialist following newspaper allegations that he used cocaine. His spokesman Max Clifford told the Press Association that Hatton has been suffering from severe depression. "Ricky's father has already been talking to the specialists over the last few weeks," Clifford said. "He and others have been increasingly concerned about Ricky's depression and his drinking." Clifford added: "He met with the specialist [on Monday] for four, five, six hours and he was told that his depression is severe and that he has a drink problem. "The drugs are quite recent and not actually the problem when we're talking about degrees." Hatton also faces a meeting with the British Boxing Board of Control (BBBC) over the allegations. Reports claim he could be suspended, fined or have his fight and promoters' licences withdrawn. "The Board want to see Ricky at the earliest opportunity and discuss the issues raised in the press accounts," said BBBC chairman Charles Giles. "this is just a bit of the article for all of it go to BBC Sport news" G
I work all the hours gods sends (for a pittance) and I still can't afford to buy a house, go on holiday at the end of the year or treat myself to luxuries...... whereas Hatton has been paid about £50m in his career, he's got everything money can buy, he's got a fit missus, a nice kid and he's the most popular British boxer of recent times. I'd be in the priory if i could afford, but I just have to get on with life
wheh the **** did clifford start working for the Hattons?? If they has just been honest people wouldn't of been fussed. Hatton was been out of control since the WBU days and everyones known it.
2 points 1) an evening on the **** and then back to some girls hotel room snorting coke and shagging all is pretty much my definition of a great night . If thats hitting rock bottom then i'm spending too much time at the top . 2) Does anyone else find it a bit suspicious that this story came out shortly after Hatton announced he was unlikely ever to fight again . It strikes me that the NOTW have been sitting on stories about Hatton drug use for ages while he was making sky money on ppv and now he's retired their trying to get squeeze their last bit of money out his name ,
This is their modus operandi. I know a lad who works on these stories (also worked on the Calzaghe one), and he told me a good while ago they had a file on hatton as thick as your wrist but they have to wait for the right time.
I'd have thought so. Tex Cobb once got a NC in one of his fights after both fighters tested positive for the coke they shared the night before the fight.
