This is the second time (after the Jones-Hopkins II thread) that I have to ask:

When did the 39 years old Roy Jones became a top dog in boxing? To beat Hopkins? NO WAY. But to beat Wright?

Absolutely no way. Wright is at the top of his game, the fight would be in SMW not LHW (where he was still pretty good against Hopkins) and would easily outbox the passive Jones who throws 1 or 2 combinations per round and that's it.

70% think Roy can win this fight...

NO WAY! This guy easily outpointed the 10 years younger Taylor who is BIGGER, yes BIGGER than Jones. Didn't lose a SINGLE minute in his fight against Tito. The active Tito. The in-good-shape Tito.

And: look at the PUNCH STATS, Roy vs. Tito, Wright vs. Tito. Roy's stats are garbage.

Let's play with the stats.

-In the Wright fight Tito landed only 10%(!) of his punches
-Wright threw 756, connected with 262
-In the Jones fight the OLDER, the FATTER, the RING RUSTY Tito landed 29% (3 times more) against Jones than against Wright.
-Roy threw only 482 in total and landed 172, almost ONE HUNDRED LESS than Wright and while:
-Roy landed only 12 (twelve) punches more than Tito
-Wright landed 204 (that’s two hundred and four) more punches than Tito. There’s a 17 TIMES difference in between…

Again: we are talking about an OLDER, FATTER, RING RUSTY Tito against Roy. And as I said, the BIGGER Taylor and the bigger Hopkins couldn’t defeat Wright convincingly, in fact, the Taylor fight (draw) was a controversial decision.

I think Winky Wright looked like a beached whale against Hopkins, but the fight was still about even after eight rounds before all the headbutting took it's toll on Winky.

Wright would dispatch the current Roy Jones with ease, though if Jones was in his prime I would struggle to pick a winner.
