This clips shows why he was a TBE level operator. His understanding of boxing freeing him to focus on the ability to read the opponent instinctively and adapting completely to his opponent and manipulate his opponent whilst moving forward and not even touching him. TBE level operators do not play a back and forth game of tennis with you like everyone else does in the ring. You show them what you do, and they'll realise what you do.
With all due respect Leonard doesn't rate too highly with me. Yes he was a very talented boxer no one can deny that. My beef with him was he was supposedly "retired" & was supposedly working with my friend from Ft Worth Tx Donald Curry. Don was having problems making 147 & wanted to move up & challenge Marvin Hagler. Leonard talked him out of it saying WAIT !! Trouble was behind the scenes Leonard was negociating the Hagler fight for himself. He got it doing a dirty trick on Don. Damned if Leonard didn't screw Marvin Hagler too made him quit boxing. I'll never forgive his underhanded sneakiness
Some observations from myself, a modern fan: *He's just moving backward *He won't stand his ground *What's the jab to the body for? *Look at him hold *Why doesn't he stand his ground and exchange?
