I think it was but it doesn't change anything. Duran still fought way more rounds than Mayweather even if his amateur career is factored in. And it wasn't long into his career that he was fighting world class fighters so l don't think it's even relevant to compare amateur fights to professional fights.

    my mistake, read it wrong.

I still wouldn't fully agree the comp is equal, with buchanan being the main difference, but maybe you should go for 126-135 inclusive for mayweather (this was lw for duran anyway)

the best at sfw argument is a bit twisted due to everyone that didn't fight there but would be great at the weight i.e armstrong. It also depends how you view saddler as well, he fought over fw a lot and held the 130 belt.

I would rate floyd higher all time(top 20 easy) than most on this forum, but it's more based on the film than his record, which is very impressive, but a step below more than 20 guys, and I could make the argument is about equal to duran at just lw(and i am well aware of the padding in durans lw run).

i don't really feel floyd top10, but can live with it. I really don't get duran at >40 tho. I could get there if my criteria were heavily based on consistency, give zero props for skills on film, massively downgrade suspected banned ped users, and put down a guy for beating mw's because he wouldn't be a mw if he trained properly. i.e it would be complete bull****.

duran doesn't have to be top 5, but >40? i'm open minded, give a criteria that is a realistic measure of atgness, explain how 40 people are above duran, make floyd >10 by the same criteria, and defend any real points i have, and i'll paypal you £100, straight up offer.

i just included the ped question because duran himself said he took diuretics (not that bluntly), he never actually tested positive he was just dumb enough to tell us what he did, it actually comes across like he thinks it's an excuse for poor performances and doesn't even realise it's wrong(not an excuse, just clearing up what i wrote before and it may well not have been banned under that board at that time).

Leonard was 1. naturally bigger 2. an even bigger ATG 3. close enough in time that its not absurd to imagine. So I take Leonard.

Sugar Ray...I don't even think Mayweather can beat Duran, Hearns or Hagler.

So are we forever going to bring up Floyd's one close fight in his prime when he was injured entering a new weightclass as an example of his short comings? Especially since he went on to clearly win the second fight. After that the closest fight he had was ODLH which had a lot to do with a the tremendous does size advantage on ODLH part and stupid judging. Like a split decision makes no sense there.

Pac was scared sh itless of fighting Mayweasther in 2009 / 10. Now you deal with that.

If you you think beating a coward would have improved his legacy then you have a problem. Now deal with that.

Duran's career from his less than 120 lbs debut in Feb 68, up until June 1980 ALONE sh its all over Mayweather's resume to date, and anything he might further achieve.

And if you are claiming De Jesus was " second rate " where the fuk does that leave?

    Guerrero
    Hatton
    Baldomir
    Mitchell
    Gatti
    Bruseles
    Sosa
    Augustus
    Rios
    Manfredy.

And, as stated I greatly admire his skills, but some of the cr ap he has fought is laughable.

    Leonard w15 or w12 Mayweather

Leonard is naturally bigger, a little stonger and punches harder. He also has better lateral movement. Hand speed is close. Mayweather is better defensively and both have good chins.

I think Leonard would be busier. He wouldn't fall for any traps with Floyd on the ropes. He'd outbox Floyd from the center of the ring. If he got Floyd on the ropes he'd land to the body. He was also a better inside fighter.

Beating Prime Pac would have indeniable been Floyd's greatest victory.
That is a fact not an opinion. :deal

It is time to deal with reality, son.

It is pathetic and disrepectful how you refer to Prime Pac as a "coward", in your own little reality.

No son, the fact is in 2009 / 10 when it mattered, Pac showed cowardice, and as such beating him has done nothing , nor could it ever have done, anything more for Mayweather's legacy.

    Just deal with it.:deal
