Ray Leonard vs Floyd Mayweather

I always wince when I see this...Leonard was treating him like a heavy bag near the end of the fight. At one point Floyd Sr is covering up on the ropes and takes nearly 20 punches without answering back. Credit to him, must have been fairly tough to take so much punishment. I like how Leonard really alternates his punches, too -- going from body to head and back again, mainly using hooks to creep around the guard. He takes his time and breaks him down, and never smothers his own work. His left-hook in particular is so sharp.

 

Please! Ray Leonard would have whipped that punk Mayweather JR easily. Hearns, Duran, Benitez, Pryor all of them would have beat the life out of that punk! Oh, Pacquiao would have totally destroyed him also. Too bad Mayweather JR has no guts!

 

atsch Why dont you actually watch the fight instead of going by word of mouth. Floyd Sr. didn't give him much trouble at all. It was somewhat competitive for about 2 rounds then Leonard completely took over and dismantled him for the rest of the fight.

Floyd Jr is better then his dad but he's also smaller and can't take the type of punishment his dad took. Ray is too big, fast, strong, and skilled for Floyd Jr. to ever beat. Same can be said for Pacquiao.
