I remember the benitez fight stopped on a cut to the middle of Benitez forehead not so much that he was KOed but he was losing at the time of the stoppage.

you maybe right, it been along time since I saw the fight.

Benitez was a master of defensive boxing. He could outbox an opponent
at ring centre or with his back pinned against the ropes as he did in the
championship fight with Oscar Palomino who was a terrific fighter himself.
Benitez was also bigger and stronger than PBF. Sugar Ray K.O's Floyd
    late in the fight.

First of all; this fight would never happen because PBF simply does not have the balls to say yes to a fight with a prime SRL. Against Hearns SRL fought like he would rather die than lose. PBF does not have the heart to beat a guy like that. Plus, everything Floyd has going for him, Lenoard had more of. SRL by mid-round stoppage.

Good Post!..Just rewatched the fight last week.. Ray was getting tagged...the truth is ..Hearns was a real bad matchup for him..Tall, Lanky with a great jab..movement, speed and power. SRL face was a mess but his heart was just tremendous... Not saying that Hearns didnt have the heart but his chin was always his downfall..I think it was an uppercut that hurt him

this fight is ALOT more competitive than most think, but i see Leonard getting a close decision over PBF...

I agree with a few posters - more competitive than people think. Lets not forget that Floyd is every bit as good defensively (if not better), and has the speed and stamina to hang in there. Power goes to SRL who also puts together combos much better. That being said ill go UD to SRL in a fairly close fight

I'll have to go with SRL by decision. His offensive-orientated style would be the difference, I think.

I think Floyd's chin is better than El Radar's, so he's not getting stopped. However, he's also not winning. 116-112 SRL if it's 12 rounds, and 145-140 over fifteen.

Leonard by UD. I think it would be fairly close though.

SRL by TKO in a very entertaining but somewhat one sided fight. PBF would have his moments but the tempo of the fight would be dictated by SRL.
