Jackson was only k.o.'ed by the very biggest hitters..
McClellen & McCallum.....otherwise his opponent usually bit the dust.

Could Leonard box early, then come on late and stop "The Hawk"?

I think so. I think Leonard would take control the early rounds and then as you say come on later and stop Jackson on accumalation.

As good as his power is, I can't envisage Julian Jackson beating Sugar Ray Leonard myself.

Leonard put punches together better than anyone Jackson ever fought. Jackson was only knocked out by big hitters, but it was early against both men, and Leonard had enough power to hurt Jackson rather easily IMO after a few rounds.

SRL was just too fast, too sharp, too everything for Jackson. He was a different level of a fighter than Jackson. Leonard stops Julian inside of 8 or 9.

At 154.....I can envision Ray beating somebody like Davey Moore or Fernando Vargas, but not Julian Jackson. Ray's too small for him, while Julian is way stronger and hits too damn hard.

i dont think jackson lets his hands go enough. he has tremendous power but he only catches you when you are in bad positions. best examples would be how terry norris was straight up against the ropes with his left down :huh bad idea, and buster draytons strange fighting style and wacky/non sensible defence left him open for a booming left hook.

leonard is solid solid solid in technique and defence and will not leave his chin on a platter to which a huge hitter can hit him. to stop jackson swarming you got to just let your hands go to keep him quiet. leonard has those tools.

thing is that julians stamina usually played up. he could go on forever throwing bombs in some fights then in others he was tired after the first.

Leonard would use his mobility to outpoint Jackson as carefully as he can...but he would problably rather walk through a mine field, than take this fight.

I think Leonard would box Jackson carefully but take his shots when he had them. I think he'd hurt Jackson sometime late in the fight and stop him.

Leonards too good and too smart to get taken out here, and i think he could dent the Jackson chin too. Leonard TKO 7

Jackson only has a punchers chance in this fight & we know how well Leonard took a punch.

SRL outboxes Jackson all night long to a late tko or clear UD.

No disrespect but Julian was not in Leonards league as a boxer & both at or near their best, it would show.

I can't picture that Jackson footwork being anything close to effective in this matchup. He'd be 1 or 2 steps behind all night and Leonard would turn him all over the place and would have Jackson walking into punches.

Jackson doesn't have the handspeed to land on the rare occassions he'd get close and he'd be off balance throught the fight. Jackson is going to do best against those stationary guys w/ a leaky defense and that's not what he'd be facing here. tko5 due to leonards finshing ability & the Jackson chin won't go 5 rounds w/o being hurt at some point. Then it's all over once Leonard goes to those flurries of his against a wobbly opponent.
