At MW (the version that fought Hagler) Herol Graham Sumbu Kalambay Michael Nunn Iran Barkley Mike McCallum Julian Jackson Gerald McClellan '86 Tommy Hearns Sergio Martinez Dick Tiger Robinson James Toney At 154 (version that beat Kalule) Mike McCallum Julian Jackson The Hearns that blugeoned Duran Terry Norris Floyd Mayweather Jr. (of DLH bout) Tito At WW Manny Pacquiao Pipino Cuevas Robinson Mayweather (today) Prime Mosley DLH Tito
WW 6-1 (loses to SRR) JM 5-0-1 (tossup vs Tommy. Tommy might be too strong for him, but Tommy's chin didn't get stronger nor his legs, tossup). MW I'll say he loses twice, with losses coming from the Hearns, Kalambay, SRR group.
At MW (the version that fought Hagler) Herol Graham- Leonard W12, 118-110 (Graham fights his heart out but is just a step too slow) Sumbu Kalambay- Leonard W12, 117-111 (Kalambay puts up a good effort but Leonard is a little better overall) Michael Nunn- Leonard W12, 115-113 (close fight, Leonard a little more precise) Iran Barkley- Leonard TKO11 (Barkley too easy for Leonard to hit, eventually he breaks down) Mike McCallum- Leonard WMD12 (great boxing by both men) Julian Jackson- Leonard TKO9 (Leonard gets off the canvas in the 4th, stops Jackson in the 9th) Gerald McClellan- Leonard W12, 117-111 (Leonard gets rocked several times but doesn't go down, Leonard fights perhaps the best fight of his career) '86 Tommy Hearns- Leonard WSD12 (both fighters down) Sergio Martinez- Leonard 116-112 (Martinez does better than expected) Dick Tiger- Leonard 115-113 (great fight, Leonard steps up in the late round to take the lead) Robinson- LSD12 Robinson (Leonard has his moments but Robinson controls 2/3 of most of the rounds) James Toney- Leonard W12, 118-110 (speed is the major difference) At 154 (version that beat Kalule) Mike McCallum- Leonard W12 (a little faster paced than their fight at 160) Julian Jackson- Leonard TKO7 (the higher workrate helps end things quicker) The Hearns that blugeoned Duran- D12 (these guys match up very well, nobody is going down this time) Terry Norris- Leonard TKO10 (Leonard would be all over him from the start. Norris has his moments but eventually he gets broke down) Floyd Mayweather Jr. (of DLH bout)- Leonard 119-110 (most of the rounds are close but not close enough to get scored for Mayweather) Tito- Leonard TKO5 (Leonard all over Trinidad early because of Trinidad being a slow starter and his histroy of being dropped in the 2nd round. He drops Trinidad in the 2nd and never allows Trinidad to really get started) At WW Manny Pacquiao- Leonard W12, 117-111 (Leonard doesn't take any chances and does what he has to do to win clearly) Pipino Cuevas- Leonard KO6 (Leonard beats him like he stole something, Cuevas never lands any of his big shots) Robinson- LMD12 (one of the greatest fights ever but it starts slow, they open up after round 4 and Robinson does just a little more) Mayweather (today)- Leonard TKO12 (Leonard fights the perfect fight for 11 rounds, in round 12 he goes for the kill) Prime Mosley- Leonard W12, 117-111 (Leonard uses his jab and better footwork to outbox Mosley) DLH- Leonard W12, 117-111 (DLH does very well early and even rocks Leonard with a hook but Leonard clearly outboxes him after 4 rounds and brings it to an even higher level after 8 rounds) ...this is how I see it
Leonard so i had Leonard going 16-6 with 3 pickems. Although he was still elite at MW i think he was better at Welter and JM.
In green are the wins, red the losses and those not highlighted are ones i'm not decided on. I'm certainly not convinved about Leonard at middleweight.
At middle he loses to Nunn, and Robinson. Possibly Hearns too. Beats the rest at middle, though he'd struggle with some. At jnr middle he possibly loses to Hearns, but beats the rest clearly. He beats all the welters.
Wow he may well beat the lot of them, he's bound to pick up a loss or 2, 1 or 2 of the styles are bound to slip him up, but the only with good shots to beat him are: WW - Robinson LMW-McCallum, Hearns, Norris MW - here's where its murky waters, I make fave in most of these other than Hearns/Robinson, but the height/range and speed of Nunn, the slickness of Toney/McCallum, the power of GMAN/Jackson - tough tought obstacles Herol Graham Sumbu Kalambay Michael Nunn Jackson Mike McCallum Gerald McClellan '86 Tommy Hearns Robinson James Toney
