Prime Ray in 1982 pre-Kim v any version of El Chapo that you think was the best (‘83-‘86, I guess).

    Who wins and why?

Common opposition doesn’t give much away here - I think this is a real pick’em and would be a great fight.

    I’m leaning towards Ray myself…

They both had the ability to hurt each other. Exciting fight. I suppose anyone can win but Rosario’s chin leaves me with some questions

I think Rosario has better boxing skills, but Mancini might be able to use his strength, courage and will power to take a close decision.

Ray was a warrior with a ton of heart and for that reason I say he lasts maybe five or six rounds but quite possibly not ..

I’m going to go with Mancini surviving a few iffy moments, perhaps including a knockdown, to storm down the stretch with his workrate and win a UD.

Well Mancini did take Arguello's best for long periods, I think he could do the same with Rosario and stop him late on. Rosario did have suspect durability and I think Mancini could outlast him.

Edwin by early TKO, Mancini was too easy to hit, cut easily, and Rosario had a big edge in power.

Edwin was a harder, more explosive hitter at 135 then Arguello , remember it was two weight classes up for Alexis ... Edwin was also a much faster starter ... Bramble had a rock chin in his prime and see what Rosario did to him ..

Arguello was still a formidable puncher at 135, and whilst Rosario may technically have more power than Arguello. Arguello was still a very dangerous puncher at 135. Rosario had durability issues, and I think Mancini could weather the early storm and stop him late. There is a possibility Rosario could get to Mancini early of course, but Mancini is pretty durable and wasn't ever stopped early in his prime. And based on that I favour Mancini by late stoppage after some rough moments early on.

That could happen. But with the types of styles these guys fought along with the power they had and not having the best Chins I’m thinking someone is getting stopped

He was not a harder puncher then Alexis by any stretch. Howard Davis would never have gone the distance with Alexis. Rosario was faster then Arguello in a sense but Arguello also threw his shots alot better.

This would have been brutal and can go either way quite honestly. It all comes down to if Rosario manages to stay consistent and controlled rather than getting into an in-fighting exchange with Mancini. Rosario at his best that destroyed Bramble could surely stop Mancini, but the Mancini that outmuscled Ramirez could have his way with Rosario as well.

Rosario is way more talented and powerful. But he had trouble with constant pressure.

One of his best performances though was against a pressure fighter - Roberto Elizondo who was kind of a poor man's Mancini.

If Rosario is smart though, he will box and resist the temptation to try to blast Mancini out.

If he fights smart he can catch Ray coming in and accumulate damage.

    Rosario by late rounds tko
