Ray Mancini v Gatti at catch weight. Who wins this?

I love both fighters, they are my top 3 fav blood and guts fighters of all time along with Chacon.

Mancini definitely has the better chin. Gatti's chin is a bit overrated imo, he has been hurt by Manfredy,Ward,Rodriguez,Baldy,Gomez,Robinson and possibly a few others that im forgetting. I seem to remember Patterson hurting him with a body shot to.

Mancini got knocked out by Arguello, but Arguello knocked a few guys out who had good chins. Plus i think that was down to fatugue more than anything, as to was the Bramble fight. Ray was old and shot by the time he fought Haugen.

Boxing skills would go to Gatti. It seems stranger saying that, but Mancini was a straight ahead face first aggressive brawler who put tons of pressure on you. Gatti got more power to imo.

Both of them have a ton of heart though. I feel Mancini might be better conditioned though so he can dip deeper when it gets late into the fight like he did with Bramble 2.

This would be a war for the ages.:bbb

There is no reason for a catchweight. Just make it 135. The version of Boom Boom that gave Arguello hell would eat Gatti.

Thats why i wanted to even it up a bit, because Mancini was a pretty strong LW.

Mancini definitely takes him - by knock out pre Duk Koo Kim, and by decision post Duk Koo Kim. He was never the same after that fight, I would not say past his prime - just emotionally finished.

First vote for Gatti. I think he would win 6 out of 10 fights between the two. I think he would be able to box just enough to give him the edge with the close rounds, if we're talking about the guy who beat Tracy Patterson and Gab Ruelas, not the stale guy would fought Baldomir or Gomez. In many ways I think of the Art Frias fight, were Mancini was in major trouble before the finish, but Gatti had much more power, which would force Ray to think twice before lunging in.

Mancini wouldnt knock out gatti, no way in hell, especially if Gatti handled what he handled from Ruelas and Rodiguez. Both would go down, but I would hav to say that Mancini is a little quicker. Pre-Robinson Gatti is even with Mancini in boxing ability.
Would be a war with Mancini being the winner. I see Gatti runnin out of gas towards the end of the fight.

Look at how disorganized he got though when Patterson,Ward 1,Ruelas was putting the pressure on? Mancini puts an unbelievable amount of pressure on.

Id say a prime Mancini was the one who fought Arguello, after that he was still a top fighter put seemed to have lost a little bit.
Ill take a Prime Mancini at 135 over Gatti by tko10 in a brutal War,both would have to get up off the canvas during the fight though.
