I hope you arent serious my friend. Boom Boom would beat the **** outta Frietas, and rather than get KO'd... Poopoo would quit on his stool.
You guys may have a distorted view based on the less than stellar impression Acelino left. Freitas quit twice, toward the end of his career. In his prime he was a demon. Granted, Ray would have to be favored to win the majority of rounds down the stretch, but in a 12 rounder would he have enough time to catch up? I can certainly see Mancini stopping him but it wouldn't be a foregone conclusion. Freitas's speed may not necessarily trouble him quite as Arguello's exquisite timing did, but it would have made it interesting for the first several rounds at least.
It seems I never pick Manccini in any of these mythical matches..but I do this time...I think he had too much on the ball, heart, aggresiveness, power and would cause Popo to quit, naturally, in the 6th, from accumulated punishment.
WATCHED nAIL: Joey Nardone good flick. Ray Mancini was cool in it. Tony Danza played a mean guy cool. on shotime.
