Both beaten by Alexis Arguello in successive fights in the early 80s. It was actually Watt's last fight and Mancini was to go on to win the WBA title a few fights after getting stopped by Arguello but who would win between Watt and Mancini at their best?

    Watt by decision

Watt was a very good fighter. He didn't look like much, but he was awkward, smart and tough. You don't go 15 with Arguello and beat Howard Davis unless you can fight.

I see Watt countepunching Mancini's rushes and dominating the late rounds for a UD.

I think Mancini might just be too strong for Watt.

Watt rides out the early charge and stops boom boom late in a good fight!

Watt would old man him out of there on a narrow but clear points win.ray though would dominate the first four rounds

Exactly...I have nothing to add except to say that Watt was an uncommonly smart and resourceful fighter and had more on the ball over all than the overrated (in this forum) Mancini.

Never was a big Mancini fan, he probably takes a decision though
