Mercer was a good fighter and is still probably better than lots of these bums, but Haye said he was going to fight a top ten opponent.
Mercer used to be a tough and dangerous boxer. Alas, that was before the current millenium! I'm not convinced (yet) that David Haye is the saviour of the heavyweight division -- but I think he would overwhelm and possibly permanently damage Ray. Ray, Tyson, Bowe, Morrison, Mesi -- none of these guys should fight against a serious opponent (like Haye) ever again!!! :verysad The HW division must be truly sad for any of these guys to even consider fighting for anything except old age pension checks! :yep
bad fight for Haye. Theres little money in it. He wont get any credit for beating a (how old is he like 45?) old shot opponent and if he does get caught old Ray could knock him out and it would ruin his credibility to loose to an old man. He should be fighting someone decent within the top 20 to get some experience at heavyweight then after that go top 10 and try for a belt after he defeats a name opponent.
First of all, cool avatar... those were the days. Mercer didn't look too impressive against Wlad. I don't think Haye will care to fight Mercer.
Haye is a weak coward who gets his ass kicked by the British media because he's one of their few good fighters.
If he couln't do any damage against Wlad then what else can one think? He's almost wheelchair material.
