that is the only way they can put some food on the table,most of them pissed away all their money and go back to boxing....sad
Sad, but true for many fighters. You just have to look at Tyson or Holyfield to see how much money they made over their careers and squandered it away. I know managers, trainers, promoters etc. get their cut but the money these guys make and have made is staggering. Most folks work for what? $50k a year on average and these guys made millions a fight once they got the title/titles. Then again, with the sad state of the heavyweight division, some of these older guys are just delusional enough to think they can relive the past and do it again.
Merciless is yet another fighter that knows nothing else, other than fighting to make a buck. At lease Ray's last fight was a win over a guy that had a pulse. But yea, he needs to deal with the fact that it's over, and could make more money working at McDonald's, and signing autographs on the side.
