Tough guys. Strong, good power, excellent chins.

Mercer and McCall sparred a lot and talks of them fighting in the 90's happened but didn't get too far.

    Tua and McCall almost fought.

    So, who wins these fights?

    Mercer vs. McCall?

    Mercer vs. Tua?

    McCall vs. Tua?

McCall might have lost on pts 2 both but still would have been h2h superior 2 them .
But then Mercer was outpointed by Ferguson , and probably deserved 2 lose their rematch as well while McCall outpointed Ferguson so who knows ? McCall also outdid Mercer and Tua vs Lewis by far and even outdid Tua against Maskaev .
McCall was good vs big men and Tua and Mercer weren't such .
Tua would have beaten Mercer , more probably than not .
Mercer is not on d same level as Tua & McCall , he was on Ferguson's and Norris' level which isn't bad .

I think Tua beats both he was a much better boxer than both who were more tough guys if you ask me. He does win on points though.

He could stop Mercer . Not that i agree that he was a better boxer than McCall , but it's not n extremely wrong claim either .

Tua a "much better boxer" than Mercer? :huh

Mercer actually had a very good pressure jab, while Tua was confused at the mere sight of one.

Bruce Seldon also had a very good "pressure jab" :yep , but back 2 Mercer , did that "very good pressure jab" help him vs old Jesse Fergusson and Larry Holmes ? no . McCall outpointed a younger version of Ferguson and beat Holmes while actually carrying him , and then comes 1 Lenny Lewis in2 play :yep . McCall was clearly superior 2 Mercer . Regarding some of d men Tua fought such as Ruiz , Oquendo , Maskaev , didn't they have good jabs as well ?

I'm thinking Tua beats them both, most likely via decision..

Mercer could be hot and cold but at his best he is the top man out of the three imo.

I don´t know why some people consider Tua better than Mercer.....
Mercer arguably won the fight against Lewis IMO......he proved that he was a truly world class fighter against this level of opponent....

    Mercer by UD against both....

McCall vs Tua I vote for McCall....

Regarding Mercer/Tua i agree mate, and Mercer did have that olympic gold medal behind him which shows that his background is no joke.

Tua/McCall i'm not sure about. At their best, which is how i'm looking at them, it's a pick em fight. I'd lean towards Tua though because he could work harder.

But like i said Mercer was the best of the three.

Well Old Holmes did beat McCall, just not officially.

Lewis would've beaten him too, had he been allowed to continue.

Yes you are right Tua wasn't a much better boxer than Mercer but I still pick him, I think Mercer beats McCall, Tua was the best of the three his limitations related mainly to his size more than his skill for the way he fought he was quite a skillfull fighter in the way Frazier, Marciano and Tyson were obviously though Tyson's skills early on were superior to all of them. But Tua was well taught in how to fight for a man of his stature.
