http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12204645&postcount=1693 nothing's better than copy pasting my own post : Since i read **** about Holmes beating McCall here we go (not b4 i watched Lewis vs Akinwande) : McCall : rds 1,5,9 (rd 9 is a 10-8 due 2 only d ropes holding holmes upright , snapping holmes' head wildly while on d ropes , cutting and busting his face) , 10 , 11 Holmes : rds 2,6,7 d rest were even , so d fight is scored This content is protected , there is a case 4 mccall winning yet more rds due 2 holmes holding d ropes and being punished and outworked while on them , plus , according d UWFi rules touching d ropes costs 1 a pt but i was as generous as i could excluding a robbery and scored it this way . and another : http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12437282&postcount=27 most here would have been astonished 2c that mccall , tyson , holyfield would have still beaten prime holmes . in mccall's case it is assumed that it is a focused clean mccall , which was rarely observed . mccall simply experimented his boxing vs old holmes and won rds aggressively and convincingly at will (and need) . after being announced as d winner he said : i can't do that with mike . meaning : he took it as easy as he could on holmes that would have been sufficient 2 win , but he would have been serious vs tyson . although what u really should c is this : [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c--n8KwGVy0[/ame] go2 about 8:16 although u clearly should start watching it from here : [ame]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nsHyXo04lGA&feature=relmfu[/ame] http://www.eastsideboxing.com/forum/showpost.php?p=12285292&postcount=49 copy pasting my own post again : I once had a theory about Lewis falling on d referee which is n obvious thing in d fight : D DKP ref pulled and rattled Lewis in order 2 make him seem this way . However , in light of this thread i somehow came 2d enlightment that if it happened , 1 would expect Lewis 2 say something about it and he got 18 yrs 2 say it but never did so far , so i guess Lewis did fall on d ref and d stoppage was n extremely good call , u don't even have 2 look in2 Lewis' eyes (which d ref did but we don't know what he saw) 2 c that he fell on d ref . In addition , Lewis himself said after d fight that McCall landed a very good right hand , but , of course , that he should have been given d chance 2 continue . Maybe if d ref didn't block Lewis' fall there would have been no doubt and no complaints from any1 , or maybe Lewis expected d ref 2 lift him up and hold him upright after d following KDs that would have happened . And post McCall Lewis was not any more impressing than d pre McCall 1 , just like Wladimir did not improve since Lamon Brewster or Corrie Sanders if u like . He just became even dirtier and reluctant 2 punch , a milder Hopkins in a HW's body , minus d headbutts since he's 2 tall 2 execute them . Thank u 4 reminding me 2 find some of my good stuff b4 it's lost and repeating it here 4 educating d young and d clueless .
exactly especially with his accurate delivery of them repeating left elbows . It must b mentioned that Rocco was a dirty fighter 2 and that Frazier got d benefit of at least 1 robbery vs Bonavena (watched both fights) and another 1 vs Floyd Cummings and that Foreman aside , Frazier indeed avoided fighting punchers . Also Frazier "got past" Chuvalo only due 2 a thumb
Tua fought the way a man of his height 5'10" had to against larger men, he was incredibly strong and a lot faster than people appreciate, but he had his limitations but he defeats both of these men in his prime which is around the Ibeabuchi fight. Both McCall and Mercer did better against Lewis than Tua but one got lucky and the other had a better style for Lewis.
McCall's prayers payed off 4 him , he's d proof , alongside Holyfield , Brewster , Cunninghan & Byrd , and maybe a few more , that there is only 1 who makes d calls , and that 1 is d only 1 who should b addressed whenever 1 needs a flukey win
