Right some poeple are Claiming Mercer was still prime when he fought Wlad even though he was 41 years old.

Negating his speed had gone and his punch output had diminished and his prime punch resistance was gone.

So what do you think how shot was he ?

Ray Mercer was so shot that he had bullet holes in him.

The only thing he had left was his extraordinairy chin and heart. Great punching display from Klitschko, though. That may have been his (Wlad's) peak, offensive-wise.

No he was shot to peices, im not saying he wasnt :huh

But wlad fans are claiming the mercer victory as some great win when all he was was a punch bag with arms :patsch

I hate the word SHOT, when it comes to labeling fighter's in Boxing...
But at 41 that version of Mercer looked like Swiss Cheese.

Mercer was way past his best when he fought Wlad, the term 'shot' definately applys here. Like another poster said, all he had left was his great chin and heart.

Its not just him ive been having this same arguement for over a week now, Ray was shot and wlad gets very little credit for this win :-(

He wasn't completely shot but he was well past his best.

I remember seeing him fight Brian Scott in 2000. The end result was Mercer TKO2 but that didn't tell the whole story...he was cut and hurt in the first round by a big attack from Scott, the first time I could remember seeing Mercer look really rattled and rocked in there, and that's when I knew that Ray's best days were firmly behind him.

Wlad still did a good job against him, though. But that wasn't the Ray of old.

Well, Mercer is still fighting today, so he's still got something left, I suppose...

I don't think he was completely and totally shot, but damn near close. He had nothing to offer Wlad that night but a jab. But if my memory serves me correctly, that jab alone was enough to scuff up Wlad's face a bit which first started the talk that Wlad might have defensive problems because Mercer couldn't miss with it.

He was well passed it no doubt, but they say Power is the last thing to go..
And so he fight's on, proving that theory.
