Peak? What peak? He was fighting an old man who was fat way out of shape and long past his sell by date.

What I saw is a Mercer who really tried, but Wlad suppressed it.

So in my view it's more likely that Mercer was put on the canvas because Wlad's performance and not because Mercer's age. Age played a role of course, like always, but the bigger culprit was Wlad. And let me mention again that I think that Mercer is overrated (although I like him very much).

Actually he looked more out of shape against Lennox, and he WAS INDEED 10 pounds heavier against Lennox.

And whats that an indication of what exactly?!?! For ****s sake theres some real bright sparks on ESB. If Ali could still lace them up and made a presence in the ring to fight Holyfield for the newly created OAP title i assume that you would think neither man was shot because both actually turned up and fought?!?!!

Have you seen Mercers bout in the K1? Remy Bonjansky walked forward kicked him in the head and Mercer turned his head and walked back to his corner. That was no less than 30 seconds into the bout. 2 more seconds after the ref waved it off the bout was over.

In MMA he fought a guy that wasnt good enough to carry his spit bucket in his prime and you think he wasnt shot when he fought Vlad. Kimbo is a street fighter. Ray was a "World champ" and an Olympian. Tell you what YOU give ME a break.

Yeah whatever mate  That was LL`s toughest fight to date in what was seen as a disputed decision. That fight was back in 96. Mercer turned pro late and fought Vlad when he was 41. If you dont think thats past his prime i suggest you actually watch the fight or take a trip to specsavers.

Ray Mercer was in his prime when he fought Wlad, everything about him was better than it ever had been before that night. That's why Wlad's better than Lewis and Holyfield ever were and so is Corrie Super-Sanders.

If Mercer were still the man who landed one of the most brutal combos of all time on Morrison, KLIT would have been retired already.

well, sugewhite said, that when fields fought toney, where he was 41 years old also, he was still a "elite hw".
mercer wasn't completely shot in 2002, his downfall began in 2004, where he started "competing" in k1 and the briggs fight, where he gave up.
