Mercer-Kimbo was a fixed fight.:deal Mercer took a dive so they could build KImbo up...nice try though.
I didnt know that the boxing gloves produce the same force as the MMA gloves, well that video proves it.
Of course they can't box for **** , 90% don't even have an amateur boxing record. Most are ex-judokas or ex-wrestlers or ex-adcc participants... MMA is a natural route in their career since it's mostly based on grappling. You saying that MMA guys can't box for **** is as obvious as saying boxers can't grapple for ****.... Two different sports. Mercer didn't prove anything...And if he did , so did Kimbo... On the other hand , things would've been quite embarrassing if Mercer would've submited Sylvia by armbar or something... He just did what a boxer does best.... and took advantage of it against a guy who was deluded...Sylvia thought that he was going to ko mercer's ass...that was his intention...and he paid for it.
It wasn't a fixed fight. He lost simply because that "can" opted for a takedown. Boxers are like fish out of water as soon as the fight hits the ground. Any "bum" can own any ranked boxer as long as they stick to a specific gameplan. There's no "nice try". It's the reality of the sport. Mercer KOing Sylvia was almost predictable even at mercer's age. Here , listen to one of Sylvia's best friends...that was BEFORE the fight even took place. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UlLmvsmjuow Here's what happens to a striker...against a guy who doesn't want to "strike"... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sAIgNhVT3Zs This content is protected That's what sylvia should've done... Be he didn't...
arlovski soon realised he aint got what it takes to succeed at boxing, roach said he was like a fish out of water
Don't be stupid. No boxer can win in an MMA match, barring a nice solid shot on the chin in the opening seconds, like Mercer did here. Once the fight is on the ground, the boxer is helpless. Likewise, no MMA guy is going to beat a top flight boxer with gloves on in a boxing ring. They're two different sports.
Im a fan of both sports too. I just dont like how MMA fans think that MMA fighters are far more superior to boxers.
