Ray Mercer vs Deontay Wilder

I'm with the rest of the voters on this one. Some how Mercer gets to Wilder. It just takes one missed looping right hand from Wilder and Ray can counter him and Wilder would be in trouble.

 

How often did Wilder go down on the cards in his prime compared to Mercer?

 

Mercer most likely shows up out of shape and gets his face turned into a mashed potato from a distance to a UD loss.

It’s true that we never saw Wilder hopelessly down on the cards against guys like Damiani, a middle aged Larry Holmes, and Jesse Ferguson.

 

Yeah, too busy having absolute wars with bonafide ATGs like Gerald Washington.

Dont think Deontay is knocking out Mercer who in the main was very durable.Take away his power and Wilder is very limited.I like the guy but feel Ray would outpoint him

Bert Cooper wasn't exactly a slick skilled boxer and Mercer went life and death with him.

Wilder doesn't need superb boxing skills to beat Mercer.
