Mercer had a great chin, he makes the distance but is used as a punching bag

Mercer by surprise sudden 1 punch ko. Tyson crys lterally retires become HBO commentator. Divorces Givens. Has affair with nuthugger Lampley. Stars in a CBS sitcom called "Bed-Stuy". Becomes the 90s Bill Cosby minus the quaaludes and ****. Grows old. Dies a hero stopping a robbery of a Mom&Pop grocery store in Little Tarzana. Is buried in Sheepshead Bay in 2027. Is rated the 13th greatest Heavyweight Champion of the World and is known from his long successful tv career as Uncle Mike.

Tyson was a great counter/pressure fighter like his hero Roberto Duran, Mercer was not, Mike was far better in every department except for power and chin.

Mercer's style would not do well against Tyson.

Mercer had a great chin but could be outboxed- Tyson hits him much and a prime Mike may be able to get the stop- Ray also could Punch but not sure enough to keep a prime Tyson at bay

Mercer can't box like Tucker, Thomas, Tubbs, Biggs, Douglas or Holyfield, to name a few. He'll be walking in a straight line towards Tyson and get completely outgunned in the process. Great chin but it could be dented.

Mike Tyson is not Tommy Morrison.

Prime Mike 87/88 too hot for him, but mid to late 90s I reckon he goes life and death for certain.

Tyson has more power than Mercer. I don't see anything that suggests otherwise.

Tyson would get bored of hitting him.

Prime Tyson takes any version of Mercer out in a four or less rounds.

    Agreed.

I think Ray will make it to the end of the fight, but he'll lose pretty bad. As many as 5 points in favor of Iron Mike.

There isn't a heavyweight in history I would favour to beat Mercer in four.

    Mike Tyson, rather easily.

Ray Mercer had a lot of really really really bad nights throughout his career.

Mercer was also kind of a *****. I can see Mercer being totally imtimidated by Tyson.

I don't see Mercer doing any better than Ruddock in the Tyson rematch. But, while there was no quit in Ruddock, I think Mercer goes down and stays down at some point, like he did against Briggs.
