Ray Mercer vs Usyk

Usyk v Povetkin years ago would have been something. I’m not sure how he would react to that of fighter. But Usyk has the stamina and footwork and just everything to hang with anyone.

 

Dear god. The same Ray Mercer who lost to Jesse Ferguson? Post-40 Larry Holmes? Who almost lost to Ossie Occosio?

That Ray Mercer? Or is there another one I don't know about?

Because that Ray Mercer losses every round. He's being called a pressure fighter here, but his idea of pressure was to walk in flat-footed throwing big punches, and not always in big numbers when he wasn't in shape. Usyk would beat him blind-folded.

 

At their best Usyk is too skilled smart and sound defensively. Mercer will make it tough at times but Usyk will kind of pick him apart the further it goes and win a UD.

 

Usyk wins every round, but never looks like stopping him.
